This is not a strong race and it looks to be an ideal opportunity for GLIMPSE OF GOLD, who has already won twice this month. His latest success came when a narrow winner at Fakenham last week and, while a 6lb penalty makes life tougher today, this progressive six-year-old could have more to offer. Thundering Home put together back-to-back wins last month and it is too soon to be writing him off after just one poor run. That sentiment also applies to Baccalaureate, who won over this C&D back in February.

In a race with no strength in depth it is hard to oppose STEALING MIX, who brings the best form over hurdles to the table. The son of Fair Mix finished only half a length behind a 129-rated rival at Wincanton on Sunday and, while that form cannot be taken too literally, he is clearly the one to beat today. Azari was a Listed winner and Group 2-placed on the Flat in 2014 but he will need to improve markedly upon his hurdles debut to beat the selection, while Air Approach is the pick of the remainder.

Title-chasing Paul Nicholls is doubly-represented and CAPTAIN BUCK'S has to be respected as the choice of Sam Twiston-Davies to continue his good form. The five-year-old looks open to plenty of progress and receives plenty of weight from his stablemate, Rouge Devils, who should be suited by first-time blinkers and his rider's 7lb claim. The selection was poor last time out but this trip could bring about improvement and drying ground also looks favourable. Markov is an unexposed type and cannot be discounted.

MONDERON ran a fair race in a military amateur riders race at Wincanton three days ago and the fact connections are so keen to run him again suggests that the 10-year-old is going well at home. This is a weaker race and he can get the better of Ice Konig, who might just be a shade high in the weights, and Triopas, who should be suited by this slight drop in trip after a laboured effort at Taunton when last seen.

WONGA SWINGER broke his maiden tag with an easy 13-length win at Plumpton last week and he will be extremely hard to beat if in the same form, despite a 7lb penalty. Only A Tipple remains winless but he is more than capable of making the frame in a race of this nature. The Kid would have an each-way chance based on his third at Plumpton three starts ago.

It often pays to look for the best jockey in these amateur riders contests, and on this occasion, it looks like Will Biddick may also be on the best horse in the race, TICKET TO RIDE. Ed Walker's four-year-old got off the mark in the pointing field on his last start having found just one too good the time before and should be able to make a bold bid here. Teeton Power has been consistent this winter and found himself in the winner's enclosure last time out and can be the danger to the selection along with Troed Y Melin, who has been second twice and is heading in the right direction.

Tim Vaughan's TAKE EM OUT was only beaten a neck on his first appearance under Rules at Taunton and can go one better here and is the standard-setter in this contest. Jaunty Flyer has been beaten by similar distances on his two racecourse appearances and may have to settle for minor honours once again, while Tom Scudamore is an eye-catching jockey booking on Tom Lacey's Zamarkhan.
