BLAME THE GAME was in good heart when last seen and he arrives here in search of a hat-trick. Chris Gordon's seven-year-old is only 1lb higher than his latest hurdles success, remains well treated and is fancied to land the spoils this afternoon. Paris Dixie hacked up at Newton Abbot five days ago and demands the utmost respect under a 7lb penalty, while Monty's Award heads the remainder.

ICARE GRANDCHAMP displayed a fair level of ability when trained in France and he's arguably the one to beat judged on those performances. Ffos Las bumper winner Hurricane Vichi appeals as a likely threat, however, and he could go well for the in-form Milton Harris team. Lord Snootie won a point-to-point at Ballindenisk in May and he merits respect, as does Red Windsor.

HUELGOAT took a marked step forward when bolting up on his chasing debut at Newton Abbot last month and, with further improvement likely, he's expected to shrug off a 9lb rise in the ratings. Mascat has been mixing it in both codes and is worthy of consideration, along with Wetanwindy. Stanley Pincombe remains unexposed and he might fare better over the larger obstacles.

Recent wind surgery appears to have worked the oracle with ROMANOR, who arrives here on the back of two wide-margin successes at Newton Abbot. Seamus Mullins' charge carries a 7lb penalty for his latest win but he'll take all the beating if replicating that performance this afternoon. Zacony Rebel showed a smart level of form over hurdles and he could be a threat on chasing debut. Previous C&D winner Shut The Box is another to consider.

As Vorashann has floundered when previously tried over this sort of trip, and Champagne Court was made to work hard for his success over 3m at Perth latest, the in-form CHAPMANSHYPE looks the safest option this time. The selection is likely to be a lot sharper after his near miss at Uttoxeter 24 days ago and he is still on a handy mark, despite being burdened with top-weight.

SPECIAL BUDDY has looked more accomplished since returning from a spell competing in point-to-points earlier this year. He fully justified strong market support at Plumpton 13 days ago and a 5lb higher mark is unlikely to cause too many issues in this company. Who Is That has yet to complete when tried over fences but does have some ability. He appeals more than Rectory Oak, who was the only finisher in a messy race at Newton Abbot when last seen.

EL MUCHACHO was the subject of strong market support on his debut under Rules in a bumper at Plumpton back in May and looked very promising until being overhauled by a potentially decent opponent near the finish. He cost 50,000 pounds at the Cheltenham sales in April and looks to have been found a good opportunity to start rewarding the faith shown in him. Bentley's Return is an interesting newcomer, while Tapley boasts some point-to-point experience.
