JENNY REN was just denied a double when reverting to handicap company at Thirsk, but she looks more than capable of making a return to the winner's enclosure in this contest. She kept on well to score in a classified event over C&D in August and can go in again. A return to the all-weather could see Termonator sneak closer into contention, and Another Odyssey also merits consideration in first-time blinkers.

Solitary Trees was a much-improved second at Redcar over 1m and looks capable of delivering another good account now up in trip, but CARIAD shades the vote having recorded a comfortable win over this C&D on her penultimate outing, when Solitary Trees was back in fourth. A drop in distance from her latest appearance, when touched off here, is a positive, while What An Icon also merits consideration.

RUNAHOLIC has gone down by just a head on each of his last two outings and is fancied to break through on his all-weather debut, with George Scott's youngster expected to improve again. Connemara Coast kept on well for third on his introduction at Ascot and is feared ahead of 150,000gns Kingman colt Prince of Zenda. Blue Universe went into a few notebooks at Kempton and rounds out the shortlist.

Now that the penny has dropped for DRAGON GLORY following a victory at Lingfield in August, there could be much more to come from the daughter of Cotai Glory on her first start for new connections. Impeachment has not been outside the first three in four career starts but faces a stiff assignment from a wide draw, while similar comments apply to Betweenthesticks. Ange De L'amour and Rock Girl can also have a say in proceedings.

CHIEF OF STAFF seemed to score with a bit more in hand than the winning margin suggested at Lingfield recently and a 2lb rise may not inconvenience him as he looks to follow up. C&D winner Newyorkstateofmind goes well here and must enter calculations, along with Macchiavello, who got off the mark at Kempton. Muscika and Q Twenty Boy cannot be ruled out either.

ANCIENT TIMES has been a model of consistency for much of this season and his most recent second at Chester gave the impression that the return to 6f could unlock further improvement. Likely to get a prominent pitch from stall one, the four-year-old can see off Emperor Spirit, who is better than he showed in the Ayr Silver Cup, and Zero Carbon. Strike Red is a player based on the pick of his form, while Watchya was a good winner over C&D in April.

Last-start winners Larkin and Quercus Robur make obvious appeal as they bid to repeat the dose, but a chance is taken on DIAMOND JILL. Leading apprentice Benoit De La Sayette takes the ride aboard Sarah Hollinshead's C&D scorer and, now operating from 4lb below her last successful mark, she's fancied to regain the winning thread. Cicely shouldn't be underestimated either.

In an open event, marginal preference is for DONNA ITALIANA. Tom Ward's filly was a decent third at Chelmsford last week and, now eased 2lb, she could take advantage of the drop in class. Caracristi has been running to a consistent level and might be the chief threat, while Salonica is another who ought to get competitive. Handicap debutant Curley Rose is worth monitoring in the market.
