BEYOND CONCEIT has been far from disgraced on his two 7f - 1m outings to date but has long hinted he'd be seen to best effect when stepped up to middle distances. Tom Tate's charge makes plenty of appeal on breeding, being a son of Galileo and out of a dam who won the Lingfield Oaks trial and was related to a Grade 1 Japanese winner over middle distances. Juno The Muffinman was putting in his best work in the closing stages over the extended mile at Wolverhampton last time and is feared most. No Time To Lose showed improved form over this trip at Bath last time and is another with place prospects.

LADY LAYLA has improved with each run to date and it looks worth chancing that she will act on the testing conditions, being a daughter of heavy ground winner Excellent Art. The main danger appears to be Basantee, who won a novices' contest over C&D in August and is best treated on today's terms. Kid Suitor has shown his best form to date over 1m but makes more appeal than Red All Over, who failed to beat a rival home over 6f here on debut.

MINCE made the journey north to Pontefract a worthwhile one when scoring with ease on her handicap bow last time and, 11lb well in on official figures, is difficult to oppose from a handicapping point of view. The selection hasn't yet encountered ground this slow, however, the same can be said for most of the opposition. This looks a more realistic assignment for Impassive, who finished well-held in a sales race at Newbury latest. Penalised Windsor scorer Ballesteros is another to consider but both may be vying for a supporting role at best.

The Godolphin newcomer, Gold Rally, would have made more appeal if the ground had been riding quicker, given his US pedigree. The last-named fetched $450,000 as a yearling and benefits from the assistance of Frankie Dettori today, but, on the likely slow ground, Tom Tate's KEY APPOINTMENT, a son of Pivotal, gets the vote. The selection is a half-brother to six winners, including Listed 1m winner Battle Chant. Of those with racecourse experience, Intuition, second over 7f at Warwick on debut, is feared most now upped in trip.

John Gosden's Daneking is respected having opened his account in a Goodwood maiden latest. However, over this shorter trip, preference is for ZAKREET, who has relished the slow ground at Haydock and Newcastle the last twice and could feasibly land a hat-trick off a 6lb higher rating. Amadeus Wolfe Tone is another seeking a treble, although he steps up beyond 7f for the first time today and may have to settle for a supporting role. Godolphin's Grizzle looks feasibly weighted and, on his handicap bow, is also considered.

Focail Eile built upon his recent Musselburgh victory when second at Sandown and Lingfield recently so shouldn't be too far away again, despite a 2lb rise in the weights. Nevertheless, the vote goes to KEYS OF CYPRUS, who exploited a declining mark under this rider at Ayr last time and won't be inconvenienced by the return to 1m, off a 4lb higher mark. Others to consider are last time out Hamilton scorer Smart Step and recent Wolverhampton second Lockantanks, the latter of whom was touched off by a nose in a photo finish last time out.

OPUS MAXIMUS will relish the soft ground here and is taken to score of this mark of 67 now pitched back into the handicap ranks. The Jennie Candish charge appears to be back to his best form and looks dangerously well treated. Horatio Carter is another whom remains well weighted in this company and winning form two starts ago in front of the reopposing Fazza bodes particularly well. The Osteopath looks a difficult ride but is the pick of the remainder.

ALL MY HEART has racked up a hat-trick of all-weather successes and this 5lb rise in the ratings doesn't seem harsh, having won under a 12lb penalty at Wolverhampton last time out. A lack of winning turf form is a slight worry but ground conditions are expected to play into her hands. Taikoo must not be overlooked in search of the hat-trick while of the others, Moghaayer is interesting in the first-time cheekpieces and could play a serious part returning from a lengthy absence.
