A moderate race to kick off the card but RAVEN BANNER put in a career best when third on her handicap debut over C&D three weeks ago. From the same mark today, the daughter of Raven's Pass is a danger to all. British Embassy has gone well on a couple of occasions already this season and he could prove to be the main danger. The shortlist is completed by Equleus and Shrubland.

Miss Infinity sets the standard based on her win at Ayr recently and that followed a fine third on her debut over this C&D behind the promising Fair Eva and subsequent Listed winner Nations Alexander. That said, she has to give 1lb to LEONTES, who ran well in a couple of maidens in May and finished a respectable 10th in Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot recently. Winning Ways showed ability when second on his debut and this well-bred colt is entitled to improve today.

SIR THEODORE had Lady Joanna Vassa behind him when successful at Nottingham a week ago and the son of Arcano can confirm that form today, despite having to carry a 6lb penalty. Show Palace has looked a touch high in the ratings since winning at Redcar last month but he could make the frame today, while Spirit Glance and Twentysvnthlancers also have claims in an open race.

It was not a strong race that LIKE NO OTHER won at Newcastle a week ago but most of his rivals find winning difficult and the son of Approve could hardly have been more impressive that day. Chaplin Bay has been a beaten favourite in three starts since he bolted up at Hamilton in May but the four-year-old has not run badly in any of those starts. Others worthy of consideration are Celtic Sixpence and Musaaid.

BEAR VALLEY overcame plenty of greenness to finish a close second to an experienced rival on his racecourse debut at Beverley a couple of weeks ago. On pedigree the son of Manduro should have no problem handling ground with plenty of cut in it. Bacchus was only beaten a couple of lengths when fifth in a decent heat at Newbury earlier in the month and he looks likely to be the main danger. Black Bubba was far from disgraced when fourth to some useful sorts at Salisbury last week and he would be the pick of the remainder.

A small field but this is still a competitive contest. That said, REGAL MONARCH is the one they all have to beat following his hugely impressive nine-length win at Newmarket last week. A 6lb penalty is unlikely to stop this rapidly progressive three-year-old. Kaatskill Nap has shown improvement with every start in maidens and he is likely to find more on his handicap debut. Injam will relish this step up in trip, having looked one paced over 1m4f, while Project Bluebook was not too far behind the selection in the Edinburgh Cup a few weeks ago.

Triathlon is likely to be a popular choice considering her powerful connections but an opening mark of 74 means that the daughter of Hat Trick needs to find some progression. SONNET makes more appeal following her second at Beverley recently and a rating of 66 may underestimate her ability, especially as more progression is likely to come. Cacica also makes the shortlist, while My Lucille could pick up some place money.
