Right To Rule has been beaten favourite on both of his runs over hurdles so far and while he should be capable of getting his head in front at some point, he comes up against some interesting rivals today. In fact, Juno The Muffinman probably sets the standard on hurdles form and he is highly respected. However, Deepsand and SURAJ are of greater interest on their respective hurdling debuts. Preference is for the latter, who achieved a rating of 97 on the level and has the scope to take high rank in the juvenile hurdle division.

Top Tip: Suraj (7)
Watch out for: Deepsand (2)

Those with experience look vulnerable, the pick being Right To Rule, and this looks a good opportunity for classy Flat recruit Suraj to make a winning debut in his new career. Deepsand wasn't quite so good on the level, but appeals as the type to make a decent fist of the winter game, and is also worth a second look.

Harris Hawk rounded off last season with two impressive wins over 3m at Newcastle and although he has been raised a total of 19lb, he can go well on his return to action if at the top of his game. NOBLE LEGEND made a winning handicap debut at Southwell back in April and an 8lb rise for that looks fair, especially given the scope for further improvement, so he gets the tentative vote. Newton Tonic and O'Callaghan Strand are others to consider.

Watch out for: Harris Hawk (2)

John Wade took this with Deuteronomy in 2010, and has strong claims of a repeat with the progressive Harris Hawk. Newton Tonic has fitness on his side, and is the obvious danger, with Noble Legend another capable of better in this sphere.

Ma Filleule is very interesting on her first run since joining Nicky Henderson from France and confidence behind her would be an ominous sign. Grate Fella showed promise in bumpers and he is respected on his hurdling debut along with Josies Orders, who shaped encouragingly in a point-to-point earlier this year. EMERGING ARTIST had some decent form on the Flat for Mark Johnston and it will be very interesting to see how he fares on his hurdling debut for Evan Williams.

Ballybough Gorta has won four of his six runs over fences and although the handicapper has caught up with him, it would be churlish to rule out another bold bid. Vincitore has claims on the form of his Ludlow second last time and Buffalo Bob could figure if returning to action at the top of his game. However, the verdict goes to the veteran LORD RYEFORD. He is just 3lb higher than his last winning mark and he was far from disgraced when runner-up in France in August.

Allanard looks well treated now able to race off his proper mark but he's not the most consistent, and the progressive Ballybough Gorta appeals as the most solid option. Buffalo Bob is another to consider in a competitive event.

A wide open contest and a case can be made for plenty of them. Yesyoucan looks a likely player on his handicap debut and Parc Des Princes is sure to prove popular. Star In Flight is potentially nicely handicapped and he could go well if bouncing back to form, while Around A Pound, Open Day and Loose Chips are also respected, but SEMI COLON gets the nod. She posted her best effort of last season first time out and this could be the time to catch her.

Semi Colon ran a blinder at Cheltenham on last season's reappearance and gets the nod here with Jeremiah McGrath taking off a handy 5 lb. San Telm and Parc des Princes arrive in form and should go well, while Brian Ellison's Yesyoucan is a likely improver now handicapping after a short break.
