Orpen Wide mixes hurdling and fencing but is practically impossible to catch right,as evinced by his latest 33-1 victory in a novice chase at Sedgefield. Reverting to the minor obstacles here, he will go close at his best but is asked to shoulder topweight. Cruchain achieved a comfortable maiden victory at Ludlow on his final run of last season and should progress again this term, but MISTER WISEMAN displayed much improved form when winning at Market Rasen eight days ago and can go in again.

Hypnotic Vibes made a smooth chasing debut when successful at Southwell and has obvious claims here after that win, especially as his fitness is assured. FRENCH SAULAIE was campaigned at a high level last term and comes into this race with the best hurdling form to his name by far. He gets the vote here in the hope he can transfer that level to fences and that he is fit and ready after a lay-off since being unplaced in the Swinton Hurdle. Ellerslie Tom, Ingratitude and Albinus all have claims in an attractive contest.

A minimum stakes race with little or no worthwhile form on offer. In the circumstances it might be worth taking a chance that MANSHOOR can transfer the fair form he showed for Freddy Head earlier this year before moving across the channel to Lucy Wadham. Joshua represents Don Cantillon who boasts a fine record at this track and finished a modest third behind shock winner, Ostinata at Market Rasen. Shannersburg was fifth that day but should improve, whilst Elbistan, back in ninth on that occasion, would have claims on the better form of his first two outings.

Nelson's Spice was a more than comfortable scorer in what looked a decent handicap chase last time but he has been punished by having his rating upped by 12lb and must find this tougher. THAT LOOK was well behind that day but is 13lb better off here and has since given a fine demonstration of gutsy front-running when fending off any number of challenges to land a 2m flat handicap at Yarmouth. He is taken to reverse placings. Loita Hills was below par last time but looked useful in two previous chase wins.

OCEANA GOLD is a fascinating hurdling recruit for Emma Lavelle after enjoying a successful summer on the level for Andrew Balding. It is a dangerous pastime supporting horses on their hurdling debut but if he can transfer his ability to his new sphere, he should have too much class and toe for these opponents. Postmaster, engaged to run at Fontwell yesterday, looks the obvious threat if taking up this engagement, although Motarjm has demonstrated ability in his two outings and Robert Thornton is a good booking.

Argento Luna followed up a bumper win in a modest affair at Warwick with three better performances, notably when third at Sandown and fifth at Aintree in valuable NHF contests. The Mtoto mare has been found a decent opportunity for her hurdling debut and is obviously of great interest. However, it is her first experience of timber and MUTUAL RESPECT, second at Sedgefield recently and consistent enough for Paul Nicholls last term, might be the value option. Northern Lad looks next best.

Fourpointone is sure to be popular - and deservedly so. He is one of the very few to offer a consistent profile and also has a C&D win to his name. He stayed on dourly when holding off the challenge of Welsh Guard by 3l but the latter is now 3lb better off. Supreme Team was further behind and looks held, whilst Red Granite could go well if able to reproduce his fair fencing form over timber. A chance is taken with ZULETA, who revealed her best form for a long time when finishing a 2l third to He's A Gaffer over a similar trip.
