MARAJMAN never quite lived up to expectations for Willie Mulllins after an impressive debut at Clonmel back in February 2020. Winless since, these are much calmer waters for the seven-year-old as he makes his first start for new connections on English soil. With the Ben Pauling yard in such good form, Shanroe Tic Tec must be respected despite being on a losing streak that stretches back over two years. Humaniste is another Irish import who could have a say.

The value may lie with SAINT RIQUIER, who ran a perfectly respectable race when fourth on hurdles debut last month at Ludlow. The first two from that contest have both won impressively since, giving the form a strong look, and there should be improvement forthcoming from Ian Williams' charge. Tarseem is another who ran well on debut over C&D earlier in the month and he must be considered along with Jack Kennedy, formerly of John and Thady Gosden. Twilight Twist is not out of it either.

An intriguing novice hurdle with several unknown quantities to consider including TRAPISTA, who shaped well on her only start on the level last June when behind a subsequent Group 2 winner. A winner over hurdles since at Angers, she was recently purchased by JP McManus and could be primed to strike on her domestic debut. Houka D'oudairies arrives with a similar profile but has yet to jump a hurdle, while Eavesdropping was an impressive bumper winner at Fontwell back in May. Of those with experience, Flat White and Tequila Blaze lead the way.

There are plenty of exciting prospects on offer in this contest and marginal preference goes to MILLERS BANK, who took big steps in the right direction to finish his previous campaign. After romping home at Newbury in March, the Alex Hales-trained gelding recorded a career-best effort in the Aintree Hurdle, placing at 80-1. If he continues his ascendancy over fences he could be thereabouts at the business end, although it won't be plain sailing as Cadzand may mount a bold bid on chase debut. Champagnesuperover was by no means disgraced when seventh in the Albert Bartlett and he completes the shortlist.

JAMACHO has been tough to keep out of the frame this year and he gets the nod to build on two encouraging outings over fences. There are plenty of dangers including Thecraicisninety, who has been given a chance by the handicapper after a series of lacklustre efforts. The Jonjo O'Neill-trained gelding rates the most immediate danger, while Above Suspicion is another to consider.

UNO MAS is looking for his hat-trick and runs here unpenalised after a very easy win at Aintree in a conditional jockeys' handicap a week ago. If he remains in the same form, he may prove difficult to beat. Out The Glen is interesting on his first start for his new connections and, if wind surgery and a first-time tongue tie can get him back to his better form, he could be well handicapped. Abington Park wasn't beaten far when third at Hexham and could run into a place.
