C&D winner COSTA FILEY kept on well in the closing stages when third over 5f at Sandown earlier in the month and is expected to improve for this step up in distance on his second run back from a break. The main danger may be Believe It, who failed to justify favouritism over 1m at Lingfield last time but was beaten by only half a length and should go close if building on that effort over this shorter trip. Desert Strike is well drawn to attack and could also finish on the premises.

MAZALTO kept on well in the closing stages when fourth over 1m2f on debut at Lingfield and is expected to improve for this step up in distance. The main danger may be John Gosden representative Taqaareed, who attracted support on debut at Sandown and should be all the wiser for the experience gained. Queen Of The Stars took a forward step when third over this trip at Haydock three weeks ago and has place claims, likewise recent Newcastle third Great Thoughts.

FANCY DAY was off the mark at the first time of asking when scoring in a 6f novices contest at Pontefract earlier in the month and is expected to improve again for the step up to this longer trip. There isn't a great deal between the selection, Yarmouth scorer Urban Fox and Thirsk winner Miss Sugars - both of whom are also stepped up in trip under penalties. Double Spin looks the pick of the John Gosden newcomers and is another to monitor closely in the betting.

Franco's Secret was beaten by under a length over track and trip last time out and should be thereabouts off an unchanged rating, though preference is instead for HAIL CLODIUS. He found 0-100 company too hot at Salisbury last time out but shaped with promise on turf when third at Lingfield in May and could bounce back to form now dropped to 0-85 level. Quality Song drops back in trip and is worth a market check with Jamie Spencer booked, while Major Crispies is effective under these conditions and could also take a hand.

GLAN Y GORS has been knocking hard on the door of late and wouldn't need to improve much on the form of his neck beating at Wolverhampton last time to get back on the winning trail. Shades of Silver is 5lb higher than when scoring over track and trip last summer but has place possibilities. The one that could give the selection most to think about, however, is recent Goodwood second Cotton Club, who has enlisted the help of talented 7lb claimer George Wood once again.

PECKING ORDER romped to a nine-length victory in a Ripon maiden in September and is worth a market check now returning from a break on her handicap bow. The fitting of a first-time visor could enable unexposed Godolphin runner Winter House to get his season back on track after he flopped in the Zetland Gold Cup, while Paddys Motorbike also commands respect after bouncing back to form at Newmarket last month.

LADY MCGUFFY was touched off by just a neck off this mark over the extended 5f at Bath last time and is a potential improver now granted this extra yardage. C&D winner Canford Belle has dropped to within 1lb of her last winning rating and is the one expected to put up most resistance, though big runs from recent Doncaster second Geoff Potts and Inner Knowing, who landed minor money over 6f at Carlisle earlier in the month, would also come as no surprise.
