This looks a match between CAIUS MARCIUS and John Monash. The latter is a past C&D winner and represents the Gordon Elliott stable that have an impressive 31% strike-rate with their course runners over the last five seasons, but Nicky Richards' charge is 7lb ahead on official ratings and his class can see him through. Novo Dawn looks best of the remainder.

Western Home is entitled to improve for her comeback run over hurdles at Kilbeggan and she is sure to have plenty of supporters representing Gordon Elliott and Richard Johnson, but AMILLIONTIMES rates the one to beat. Jackie Stephen's charge has been given plenty of time to freshen up since his game C&D last month and a 2lb rise might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same determined mood. Reverse The Charge makes up the shortlist.

It could pay to side with GOLD CHAIN in what looks a tricky puzzle for punters to solve. This six-year-old is a dual course winner, as recently as when scoring over this track and trip in April, and she could potentially improve for the fitting of a first-time hood. Captain Mowbray wasn't beaten far off this mark at Uttoxeter and he should give another good account, while Miss Joeking, This Thyne Jude and Blake Dean are others to keep an eye on.

Russian Regent is a dual course winner and arrives on the back of a solid effort at Downpatrick, so he holds obvious claims, but CALL ME VIC edges the vote. Like with Gordon Elliott, you must always take note when Tom George sends runners up to Perth and this gelding arrives on the back of a career-best performance, finishing runner-up in a competitive handicap at Aintree. He has since gone up 4lb in the ratings but another bold bid looks assured. Baileys Concerto shouldn't be too far away either.

MARAWEH gamely recorded a third C&D victory last month and, with a 2lb rise deemed lenient, he might be able to find the target again. Lowcarr Motion is a gelding heading the right way and he can back up recent solid win and placed efforts at Wetherby and Aintree respectively, while it would come as no surprise to see Tangolan involved at the finish either. He drops down from class three company.

French Seventyfive remains in good form despite a beaten favourite at Southwell last time and should give another good account, while Mo Rouge likes it here, as shown when runner-up over C&D latest, and can make his presence felt. The vote, however, goes to SOLWAY LEGEND. The past C&D scorer won readily at Hexham earlier this month and although an 8lb rise will obviously make life a lot tougher, it might not be enough to stop him.

There was just a neck splitting Dubai Shen and Padre Tito when first and second respectively over this C&D last time and that pair are likely to be closely matched again, but CARINENA shades the verdict. The Shantou mare still held every chance when falling four from home at Kelso last month and, providing that nasty experience hasn't dented her confidence, she looks sure to go close. Astaroland and Rockabilly Riot are others to note.
