THECORNISHCOWBOY remains in fine form and looks sure to be in the shake-up once again, despite carrying a 6lb penalty for his short-head C&D victory on Friday. This looks another good opportunity for him and he gets the nod ahead of fellow C&D winner Kames Park, who has been knocking on the door off this mark but Richard Guest's veteran is hard to win with nowadays. Astroscarlet is edging back down to a decent mark and cannot be ruled out either.

Mack's Sister has been threatening to regain the winning thread off this mark recently and chased home Reginald Claude at Wolverhampton last time out. However, the winner had previously finished third behind RENOIR'S LADY and, with the second from that race also winning since, Simon Dow's filly looks capable of defying a 3lb rise to complete the double. Venetias Dream is expected to relish the step up to 7f and looks a threat.

ARTFUL LADY got off the mark under today's pilot at Wolverhampton last month when doing her best work at the finish to suggest this extra furlong may help, and, with that confidence booster entitled to bring her on, she is taken to defy a 3lb rise in the ratings. Rogue Reporter is one to consider if forgiven his last run but the handicapper may just have his measure now so a bigger danger may be Basle, who is slipping down the ratings and could be ready to strike soon.

Although only fourth here last week, there was plenty to like about the way EFISTORM was flying home that day and this drop into a claimer may do the trick. He gets the nod but keep a close eye on the 70-rated Gabrial's Gift and Victorian Bounty, who is worthy of close consideration dropping in class on the back of what wasn't the worst of efforts at Wolverhampton latest.

Ace Of Spices will be thereabouts if repeating his most recent Southwell success, but GEORGE FENTON is taken to land the hat-trick. Up a mere 2lb for his narrow Wolverhampton triumph when staying on strongly last time, there should be more to come from the three-year-old and he should have no problem in bagging a handy position from stall one. Loyal Royal makes most appeal of the others.

Work Ethic may improve on recent efforts in first-time blinkers, but it could pay to side with TARTAN BLUE here. Though many will question the form of the claimer she won at Kempton last month, she can go from strength to strength with that first career success under her belt now and take full advantage of her position at the foot of the weights. Layla's Oasis is another for the shortlist.

SIX WIVES, beaten a neck behind York Glory at Wolverhampton two starts ago before finishing a close-up fifth over this track and trip last time, commands the utmost respect off bottom weight and it could prove significant that Silvestre De Sousa takes over in the plate. Swiss Cross arrives in good nick and is another considered under a 6lb penalty, while Seeking Magic is partnered with the red-hot Graham Lee and could be thereabouts.

STETSON displayed some improvement on his handicap bow at Wolverhampton last month and the booking of Graham Lee for this assignment suggests connections are hopeful of a big run off this 1lb lower mark. Barachiel has threatened to score in similar company the last twice and is another to take seriously, while it would come as no surprise to see Honest Strike build on a rejuvenated Southwell outing three weeks ago.
