UNDERWRITTEN posted an improved effort when runner-up on the Flat at Warwick over 1m3f last time and he has joined a top NH yard so looks a likely contender on his hurdling debut. Spanish Fork unseated at Newton Abbot last time and although he sets the standard on his previous second at Stratford, it is hardly insurmountable. Adili pulled up on his hurdles debut but he comes into this on the back of a win on the level at Southwell and should not be overlooked.

It is difficult to oppose PIMENT D'ESTRUVAL. He had to settle for a remote second behind Sud Pacifique at Stratford last time but even a reproduction of that effort would give him leading claims today. The main danger could be his stablemate, Donnachas Chant. He has been disappointing on his two runs since joining Tim Vaughan from Ireland but it would be no surprise to see him fare better today. Stadium Of Light could improve for his hurdling debut experience and he has place claims.

QUINDER SPRING bounced back to form to win with plenty in hand over 2m6f at Cartmel last time and he will take plenty of beating, despite a 12lb rise, if in the same mood today. Epee Celeste has been raised 7lb for her Cartmel success last week but it would be no surprise to see her give another good account. The hat-trick seeking La Pantera Rosa also merits respect, along with the potentially well handicapped Chesapeake.

PYRACANTHA found the progressive Bobowen too good at Perth but that effort at least proved that he is fairly handicapped at present. Another big run can be expected from him today. Rebel Dancer is not the easiest to win with but he has claims on the form of his C&D third last time. O'Callaghan Strand was well beaten at Newton Abbot last time but he had been progressing nicely over fences prior to that and he might be worth another chance.

Favours Brave has been raised 6lb for his C&D success last month but that looks pretty fair as the runner-up, The Lemonpie, has won twice since. Tim Easterby's representative should go well but slight preference is for CLAUDE CARTER. He won with a bit in hand over this C&D last time and even a 12lb rise might not be enough to stop him doubling up. Toshi, Osgood and King Ozzy are others to consider in an open contest.

Glingerbank bounced back to form to score at Perth and he is respected this evening, despite racing off a 5lb higher perch. However, MY FARMER GIRL won well over 2m at Worcester on her handicap debut and the runner-up, Bingo Des Mottes, has since franked the form. This longer trip should be within her range and she could defy a 9lb rise. Call It On, Mzuri Bay and Mavalenta all make the shortlist.
