Lettheriverrundry has been knocking hard on the door in starts at Towcester and Exeter of late and would be no surprise winner, but PENN LANE makes most appeal. Warren Greatrex's inmate is a bumper winner and on his second hurdles start at Huntingdon in February he was staying on well before coming to grief two out. The five-year-old has had plenty of time to get over that mishap and can get his head back in front. Ballycamp completes the shortlist.

A select but competitive field of four has been assembled and EMINENT POET gets the nod. Venetia Williams' 125-rated son of Montjeu has done his winning on soft and heavy but did finish a creditable second at Chepstow on good to soft on his second career start in February last year and might not be done improving yet. Closest Friend is the sole C&D winner and will have no problem on the ground, so he heads the list of dangers from Mystic Sky and Dark Diamond.

QUEBEC, one of two course winners in the field, is very much a player on his chase debut. A two-time winner over timber from nine starts, connections have found him a real opening against these rivals and on the pick of his form he's potentially well treated off 110. Trespassers Will was pulled up over timber at Exeter last time but should fare better back on good ground on his first start over the larger obstacles, while Gambol rates pick of the remainder for the in-form Ian Williams stable.

DETOUR AHEAD proved she retained plenty of ability on her third comeback outing after a long absence when not beaten far over hurdles at Bangor in April and is worth siding with to capitalise on her much lower chase mark. KING BORU has had 196 days to get over a heavy tumble at Cheltenham last October and makes plenty of appeal on the basis that he ran a cracker for second off just 3lb lower at Warwick the time before. Dan Skelton's charge was brought down by Saint John Henry when still going well four out at Prestbury Park and with conditions underfoot in his favour here connections can be rewarded for their patience. The unexposed course scorer Three Of A Kind is feared most on his handicap bow and For Good Measure is another interesting contender given he was sent off second favourite for the Imperial Cup in March.

It was not the strongest of races that Being Global won at Southwell in March but this contest also appears to lack strength in depth. Others worthy of consideration include Blades Lad, Marju's Quest and Jacks Last Hope.

STANLEY showed his first form over hurdles when last seen in August and he's very much one to consider starting out in handicaps for Jonjo O'Neill, from what looks a potentially lenient mark. CODY WYOMING has never been the most reliable of performers but his easy 20-length win here last month suggests that he should be very hard to beat today, despite a 9lb rise in the ratings. Cloudy Bob was third in stronger race than this at Kempton recently and he looks to be the main danger to the selection. Double Silver will relish this good ground and appears to remain on a workable mark based on her second at Ludlow.
