ONE FORTY SEVEN was a point-to-point winner in May at Dawstown before being bought by the Nigel Twiston-Davies team for 70,000 pounds at the Cheltenham Tattersalls Sale later that month. The son of Beneficial makes his hurdling debut and should prove to be a decent recruit with the yard in solid form. Desert Retreat had some decent bumper form to his name and is a threat, while Doesyourdogbite looks the more likely of him and Bubba N Squeak to grab third.

HOKE COLBURN showed a fair amount of improvement from his debut behind Robin Roe at Warwick when beating Mariah's Legend at Southwell and this half-brother to the useful mare Strawberry should have little issue in getting off the mark over timber at the first attempt. Big Thunder finished down the field on his hurdling bow at Doncaster behind Cyrius Moriviere and this decent performer on the Flat should improve for that experience, while Action Replay represents powerful connections but is entitled to improve for the run.

PEMBA was formerly with the Million In Mind partnership and Alan King before being sold for 56,000 pounds at the Goffs Doncaster Sale in May to Fergal O'Brien. She makes her debut for new connections and has the potential to be a fair way ahead of her mark of 120. Pink Play is worthy of plenty of respect making her handicap debut and could find improvement for a step up in distance, while Vic's Last Stand has been in excellent form of late and cannot be discounted.

PADDYS RUNNER struggled in the big field environment of the Fred Winter when pulled up behind Diego Du Charmil but this smaller field should be to his liking along with the step up in distance which should bring about the required improvement. Card Game was in excellent form throughout last season and is a danger if ready to go on her return, while Forest Bihan has the potential to have improved for a summer break having now had a full season in the UK.

A race that looks a match on paper between BLUE HERON and Viens Chercher. The former returns from a 555 day absence due to a setback last season but was a Grade 2 winner over hurdles in the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton in Feburary 2015 and should prove to be a cut above the latter who does possess some decent form over timber having finished second to Welsh Shadow in a Listed event at Haydock. If this was a novice handicap, Next Exit would be 77lb out of the handicap which effectively sums up his chances but he should jump round and get third place prize money.

BAR DE LIGNE has an excellent record at this venue, winning three times from 10 efforts at the Lincolnshire track. He ran well here when last seen in July behind a well handicapped rival and could now get his season off to the best possible start in a competitive event. Florida Calling remains lightly raced for a seven-year-old and he should continue to improve in this sphere with experience, while By The Boardwalk should have come on plenty for his Perth reappearance last month and could be involved at the business end.

7

16:30 Market Rasen (Class 6) (4YO to 6YO)

BANDSMAN has been unlucky not to open his account under Rules and this represents another excellent chance for Dan Skelton's charge to land a bumper before moving onto better things. The five-year-old only found a promising rival who followed up over hurdles earlier this week too good here last month and the son of Bandmaster should be able to provide the form with further substance. Ben Pauling does well in bumpers and Boreham Bill is related to some nice types, while Flying Solo and Instant Replay also merit consideration.

MISTER WHITAKER made a promising debut in a similar event at this venue last season and showed signs of promise when second to a potentially smart rival. Mick Channon's charge has a decent staying pedigree and could land this before enjoying a decent hurdling career. Ravenhill Road cost six figures at the sales in May after winning his point-to-point by a remarkable 15 lengths, while Test Pilot looks well related and warrants respect for a handler who has been in good form of late.
