HEIBA was fancied to make a winning start to life with Robert Cowell at Newcastle last time out but narrowly fell short, finishing second to a well-backed winner when dropped to this trip for the first time. The four-year-old can make amends in a similarly poor contest before moving onto handicap company. Waneen is now 0-15 but has been running respectably of late on synthetic surfaces, while The Perfect Show relies on stall one and blinkers for the first time in his bid to get off the mark.

TIGSERIN has had plenty of opportunities to add to her victory at Chelmsford earlier this year but this represents another modest contest and she showed a liking for the Tapeta at this venue two months ago when just behind a consistent James Tate-trained filly. Connections will have been slightly disappointed that Kindly couldn't take advantage of a good mark here last month and she arrives here with a point to prove, while Shypen deserves respect trying this surface for the first time back under Jane Elliott .

RURAL CELEBRATION has been knocking on the door in big sprint handicaps of late and looks leniently treated having been dropped 2lb for her last effort when fourth at Ripon last month with Patrick Vaughan now claiming 7lb. Sirajiah was below par last time at Yarmouth but was dropped 4lb for that effort which gives her every chance of bouncing back, while Penny Pot Lane is an interesting contender on her all-weather debut.

The highlight of the card and SHAKOPEE is fancied to recover from two poor efforts and return to winning ways now dropped to this class. The four-year-old has failed to beat a rival home on his last two starts after a narrow second to the progressive Barsanti in a York handicap just two months ago. Luca Cumani boasts a 25% rate of success at this venue and this looks like an ideal chance for the son of High Chaparral to have his confidence boosted. Engage has cheekpieces on and should relish this drop back in distance, while Niblawi needs to bounce back from a modest Windsor effort earlier this month.

MUNAWER made a very pleasing start to his racing career when second at Windsor recently and if he takes a step forward from that contest then he could prove hard to beat. That said, connections also have strong claims with debutant Bahar, who cost connections 150,000 euro at the breeze up sales earlier in the year. Upgrade would have a big chance based on his second at Haydock two starts ago but he needs to bounce back from a poor run on soft ground at Ayr a couple of weeks later.

ALFREDO clearly relished the step up in trip when successful over 2m on his handicap debut at Lingfield last month and a 4lb rise may still underestimate his ability. Similar comments apply to Maid Of Tuscany, who merited her win at Catterick last week as it followed some decent efforts in defeat. Cosmic Tigress and Ellerina are others to make the shortlist, although they might struggle to beat the last time out winners.

Track and trip winner SPIRIT OF GONDREE returned to form when runner-up over 1m at Kempton last time and is expected to turn the tables on his conqueror, Check 'em Tuesday, now reopposing over this longer trip off better terms. Anneani remains 10lb higher than when scoring over C&D in July and may have to settle for a supporting role. A bigger danger may be Sooqaan, who finished an outpaced fourth over 7f at Wolverhampton last time.

BOYCHICK is only 4lb higher than when scoring over 1m at Salisbury in August and has posted two creditable performances in defeat over 1m2f at Chelmsford off this mark subsequently. Cahar Fad was beaten by five lengths into third over C&D last time but has place claims again while operating off an unchanged rating. Victoriously was outpaced over 1m at Chelmsford last time and could also play a supporting role now granted this stiffer test.
