QUERRY HORSE has earned himself a rating of 135 by building on a French victory with solid placed efforts at both Kempton and Ludlow, and he looks like the one that they all have to beat. Closest Friend ran away with a similar novices' hurdle at this track in October and was far from disgraced in a competitive handicap at Kempton last time. He rates the biggest threat ahead of Eyes Of A Tiger, who posted a solid placed effort at Sedgefield the last day.

MIDTECH VALENTINE showed a likeable attitude when holding off Unbuckled (since fourth in Listed company) at Ludlow and an 8lb rise probably won't be enough to anchor her if arriving in the same mood. Quiet Candid is 1lb lower than when placed at Taunton and she warrants plenty of respect returning to a venue where her record reads one from one, while Superfection is another who likes it here and cannot be overlooked on her handicap debut.

UNDER THE PHONE appeared to benefit from first-time cheekpieces (worn again today) when scoring readily over the extended 2m5f here recently and, although a 7lb penalty will obviously make life a lot tougher, he gets the vote to follow up. Brother Scott remains in good form despite unable to build on his Hexham victory in September and he is likely to be in the shake-up again, while Chankillo and Allow Dallow are others to keep an eye on.

Call It On was last seen winning at Wetherby in November and he must enter calculations on his return, but preference is for the race-fit MWALESHI. Sue Smith's veteran performer is best known for his chasing exploits, but he posted a cracking placed effort over hurdles here last time and the extra three furlongs today can only help. Phare Isle only found subsequent winner Moidore too good here latest and he could be in the mix again.

Lombardy Boy was gifted a soft lead when winning well at Huntingdon last time and can be opposed here with more pace likely. Preference is for HILLVIEW LAD who should settle better in a bigger field and was dropped 1lb for a fair effort last month at Wetherby. Cadgers Hole would have place claims on his second in the same Wetherby race when more patiently ridden.

INCHCOLM hasn't shown any form to suggest he can win a race yet but he's been dropped 7lb since being pulled up at Sedgefield last month and the step up in trip could just bring about the improvement that is required for the half-brother of Cheltenham Festival winner Empire Of Dirt. Petit Ecuyer deserves respect back up in distance, while Xenophon could bounce back from a disappointing run at Doncaster when pulling up.

A mares bumper that contains several well-bred individuals including POLLY'S PURSUIT, whose dam is a half-sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman and has produced 2015 Mares Hurdle runner-up Polly Peachum among other promising younger horses. Nicky Henderson's four-year-old can be taken to make a winning debut for a yard who do particularly well with their bumper horses at Market Rasen, boasting a 39% strike rate. Passmore has shown a fair level of form to date and should appreciate a sounder surface, while Another Nudge is related to Graded-placed Final Nudge and can give a bold account on her debut.
