This looks a fantastic opportunity for VIEUX LILLE, who is unbeaten in two previous visits to the Devon track. He didn't fire for whatever reason at Kelso latest but the form of his four-length defeat in Grade 2 company at Haydock the time before stands out a mile here. The talented Conor Smith takes a handy 7lb off his back and he should have too much firepower for Chase End Charlie, who has yet to run a bad race and is the obvious danger. Boa Island is certainly a lot better than showing on his hurdling debut here and he could prove a popular each-way bet.

The form of Alderley Heights' extended 2m5f course success hasn't been working out too well and she looks a little vulnerable, so it could be worth focusing on Max The Minister and EASY STREET. The former only found a progressive sort too good in class 4 company at Newbury last time and he warrants plenty of respect lining up off the same mark of 100, but a chance is taken on Jonjo O'Neill's handicap debutant. He was much improved on his latest start in a novices' hurdle at Huntingdon and this seven-furlong step up in trip could unlock another gear.

Present Man has always looked a chaser in the making and he could leave a hurdles rating of 120 well behind now switched to the larger obstacles, while Free Of Charge wasn't beaten far over this C&D last time and he is weighted to run a big race. The vote, however, goes to BEARS RAILS. The extended 2m7f trip on bottomless ground was probably all a bit too much for him at Chepstow last time and he will be much better suited returning to Exeter, where he won two starts ago, and a slightly faster surface.

WESTEND PRINCE showed promise on his most recent start at Wincanton when third behind Dadsintrouble and should benefit from the extra distance here. Back By Midnight improved for better ground when second to Beatu at Haydock last month and a 3lb rise seems fair for that effort, while Generous Jack looks a threat on his handicap debut and should improve as well for better ground.

BLACK CORTON raced too keenly on his UK debut at Wincanton when third in February behind Gala Ball but proved he has ability, and the first time hood should help to settle the son of Laverock. Magic Music Man has shown a fair level of form in similar contests including when runner-up to Banyu at Ludlow back in November, while Whipcord could have place claims dropping back down in distance after his effort here last week and with his trainer looking for any extra prize money in his bid for the trainers' championship.

BREDON HILL LAD benefited from the strong gallop over 2m last time at Ffos Las and the step back up in trip under a 7lb penalty shouldn't be of any inconvenience. Edeiff's Lad has been in consistent form recently and holds solid claims here, while Pursuitofhappiness could improve for the first-time blinkers and tongue tie after dropping 10lb for a poor effort last time at Stratford.

Paul Nicholls has been in tremendous form of late in bumpers and looks to have required another potentially smart recruit from the point-to-point field in BILL AND BARN, who was unbeaten in two starts in that sphere and is out of a half-sister to dual Champion Hurdle winner Hardy Eustace. Live For Today and Triopas lead the list of dangers.
