Townshend is clearly held in high regard at Willie Mullins' stable given he has been sent off a well-backed favourite for competitive handicaps at Fairyhouse and Kempton the last twice. The Auteuil winner cannot be overlooked but following a lacklustre performance at Kempton last time he has something to prove now and BUYER BEWARE is preferred. Gordon Elliott's charge has some to find on official ratings but brings some decent Flat form to the table and is open to stacks more improvement following a taking Downpatrick success last month. Road To Gold is also noted.

BRING BACK CHARLIE represents a yard going great guns this spring and the lightly-raced son of Green Card produced his best effort yet over hurdles when finishing second at Chepstow over this trip last time. Improving for each visit to the track, Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge remains on a nice mark and can shed his maiden status at the main expense of track and trip scorer Cadore and Abyaat, a beaten favourite at Wincanton when last sighted.

FLORRIE BOY represents this season's Champion Bumper-winning connections and is a smart animal in his own right judged on back-to-back wins at Chepstow and Newbury. An evident improver over the winter, the son of Milan exploited a mark of 105 with ease at the Welsh track last month and proved that was no fluke when scoring impressively under a 7lb penalty last time. He's gone up 9lb for winning at the Berkshire venue but he can complete the hat-trick. Sharpasaknife heads the list of dangers, from Shear Rock.

GALLIC WARRIOR disappointed favourite backers when forced to settle for a supporting role at Market Rasen last month but he's better than that performance indicated and is well worth another look off 3lb higher pitched back in against novices. He won at Taunton by six lengths when last sighted in novice company over fences and a big performance looks assured. Rear Admiral is a model of consistency and must enter calculations, likewise Ink Master who ran a decent third behind Always On The Run at Kempton last time.

Last year's winner Witness In Court arrives here on the back of back-to-back unseats, although both of those have come over the Grand National course. TENNIS CAP arrives here following multiple good performances in his homeland this season and he should have some movement in his current rating. On his last start over fences the seven-year-old chased home a subsequent Grade 2 runner-up. Others worthy of consideration are Dare Me, Just Cameron and Sharp Rise.

Monsieur Jourdain and Rossini's Dancer have both been running well in the point-to-point sphere recently and they have to be respected in a wide-open contest. That said, RAILWAY DILLON bounced back to form when finding just a younger rival too good at Wetherby at the beginning of the month. If the 11-year-old is at his best then he could prove hard to beat. Mister Marker and Nowurhurlin also feature upon the shortlist.

The first-time application of blinkers appeared to bring out the best in IMPULSIVE AMERICAN when the four-year-old was successful at Ayr on Saturday. He is unpenalised for that race as it was a conditional jockeys' contest and that makes him 8lb well in today. Western Miller had a couple of subsequent winners behind him when second at Newton Abbot last month and he is entitled to take another step forward. Benny's Secret put a frustrating run of non-completions behind him when victorious at Kelso recently and his mark still looks to be workable.
