PICKWORTH ran out a comfortable winner on what was only her second start over fences at Market Rasen last month and, open to further improvement, she gets the vote to defy an 8lb rise. King Brex makes plenty of appeal on his return to chasing duty having got within half a length of scoring over timber at Musselburgh latest, while Dica would have a chance if ironing out recent jumping mistakes.

Pure Style should arrive full of confidence having readily won a 'jumpers' bumper' at Kempton eight days ago and is expected to go close, while Formulation warrants plenty of respect with the booking of Jason Maguire eye-catching. The vote, however, goes to hurdling debutant FLAMING ARROW. There are plenty of positives to take from his three bumper appearances last season and the form of his latest second here in January looks fairly solid, with the winner adding a further two victories to his CV since.

CREEKSIDE edges the vote in what looks a fiercely competitive handicap. He made the perfect start to his chasing career when landing a beginners' event at Towcester in October and, with that experience under his belt, he could take some stopping in his bid to follow up. Hazy Tom was 16 lengths behind the selection that day (finishing sixth) but he has since improved to strike at Warwick and is expected to close the gap significantly here. Swift Arrow and Houston Dynimo add further spice to the race.

A chance is taken on the Ferdy Murphy-trained GLASSON LAD. He was far from disgraced when fourth on his seasonal reappearance in a novices' hurdle over 2m at Leicester three weeks ago and it looks significant that he steps back up to 3m on his handicap return today. Everdon Brook bolted up at Fakenham last time but quite what that form amounts to is up for question, so course winner Benmadigan rates the bigger threat.

Ubaltique has been knocking on the door and looks certain to be in the shake-up once again, but HI GEORGE gets the vote in receipt of 5lb. Malcolm Jefferson's gelding produced his best effort yet when third over 2m here last time and stepping back up in trip today can only help (won over 2m6f at Sedgefield in October). At longer odds, Masterful Act is entitled to strip fitter for his comeback run at Wetherby and could go well.

Another competitive handicap, in which BALDING BANKER gets the tentative vote. The former Paul Nicholls inmate has shaped encouragingly in both starts since moving up north and the way he finished off his race over 2m4f here last time suggests that stepping back up in trip today will pose no problems. Blenheim Brook has to be respected lining up off a 1lb lower mark than when runner-up over slightly shorter at Kelso latest, while Dawn Commander and Posh Bird make up the shortlist.

Irish raiders Lord Of Tara and Mister Nibbles both have definite claims, while Brijomi Queen commands respect on her first start since making a winning debut at Kelso in February, the form of which has been boosted with the runner-up winning twice since. Preference, however, is the James Ewart's SHARIVARRY. This double point-to-point scorer made a promising debut under Rules when third over this C&D last month and he may well improve for that outing.
