Horse No Name has crept into the frame on both starts since joining Paul Nolan from France and he should be thereabouts again, while Mike McCann has every chance if recapturing his best form, but he was particularly disappointing over this C&D last time. The door might be left open for Tony Mullins' German import ELIS GURY, whose only defeat from four Flat starts came in Group 2 company. Providing he jumps, this son of Refuse To Bend ought to go very close on his hurdling debut.

This looks a great opportunity for DEDIGOUT, who had Zaidpour and Briar Hill (his two biggest rivals on ratings) five lengths and 13 lengths respectively behind when landing the Grade 2 Galmoy Hurdle over 3m at Gowran last month. It's interesting that Ruby Walsh sticks with the 2013 Champion Bumper winner and he rates the biggest threat on this occasion. Back In Focus certainly has the ability to get involved, but he has been absent for 663 days and the Grand National is his long-term aim, so this is unlikely to be his day.

I SHOT THE SHERIFF is one of the most interesting runners on today's card and gets the vote for a powerful trainer/jockey combination. He is entitled to improve for this having been off the track since falling in the 2013 Albert Bartlett, but he potentially looks way better than this mark of 121 and the booking of Ruby Walsh makes one think that today could be his day. Forever Gold's third behind the fast-improving Mydor looks solid form and he rates the biggest threat, ahead of Thurles runner-up Romantic Fashion.

Gilgamboa is 12lb and upwards ahead of these rivals on official figures and he undoubtedly has no Un De Sceaux to beat (thrashed by that rival last time). He does, however, come across another talented front-runner in REAL STEEL, and Mouse Morris' charge might be able to pull off a shock result. The seven-year-old was running a decent race behind Vautour last time before crashing out at the last fence, and a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Drinmore earlier in the season (only behind subsequent Grade 1 one-two Apache Stronghold and Valseur Lido) shows that he is a very talented performer when putting it all together. He might be allowed to dictate, and that will put his rivals under a lot of pressure. The other Gigginstown runner Bishops Road makes slightly more appeal than Dromnea and Rawnaq.

Runaway Fairyhouse winner Noble Emperor has very few miles on the clock and should give title-leading jockey Mark Walsh a good spin, while fortunate Navan scorer Apache Jack has been tipped for next month's RSA in some quarters, and he might improve for the fitting of cheekpieces. Other last-time-out winners Urano and Thunder And Roses also hold claims, but a chance is taken on VERY WOOD. Noel Meade's gelding has failed to complete in two starts since scoring on his chasing debut at Galway, but they were in stronger races than this, and it's interesting that the cheekpieces are back on for only the second time since winning last season's Albert Bartlett.

WRITTEN INTHESTARS had a progressive rival in arrears (now rated 98) when he scored at Limerick and might have more improvement to come on just his fifth handicap start. Peoples Park was unable to follow up his Fairyhouse victory when finishing sixth at Leopardstown, but a potentially sounder surface could spark a return to winning ways. JP McManus' other contender Bloomsday was disappointing when last sighted, but had shown promise at Thurles prior to that, while Dave's Stamper and Noble Call deserve closer market inspection.

It is probably worth giving ARKWRISHT another try despite him failing to justify odds-on favouritism first time out, as he will have learned plenty from that racecourse bow. Tuzo had Cogryhill in arrears when they filled the places at Fairyhouse and it will be interesting to see how that duo fare now, while Sarwistan was well supported at Navan when finishing seventh and might be worth a market check for a shrewd handler.
