MSAYYAN was only denied by a neck on his racecourse debut at Kempton earlier in the month and he could take plenty of beating today based on that evidence. Ghazan took a step forward on his second start but further improvement will be required to beat the selection today. Strongarm Chaser cost 200,000 euros as yearling and he is a half-brother to the Group 1 winner and Classic-placed Ventura Storm.

Those with racecourse experience do not inspire much confidence but Wilfred Owen is surely better than what he showed on debut at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago. Astrologist and Gendarme are others whose pedigrees suggest that they will get better in time. That said, the preference is for IMAGINATIVE, who cost 100,000gns as a yearling and he is from the family of the high-class US performer Menifee. Blazing Tunder was a bit cheaper at 16,000 euros but he represents a yard in top form at the moment.

SHEIKHA REIKA has hit the crossbar on both of her starts to date but both of those performances suggest that she will be hard to beat this afternoon. The daughter of Shamardal was only caught late on last time out and she Hadith four lengths back in third on that occasion. However, the latter could narrow that gap today with the benefit of her first racecourse experience under he belt. Crystal Hope is from a family that these connections know extremely well being related to Hillstar, Crystal Ocean and Crystal Capella. Espadrille cost 800,000gns as a foal and she is out of a Group 3-winning and Classic-placed dam, while Saving Grace is a half-sister to the 2015 Oaks third Lady Of Dubai.

SHOW OF FORCE has thrived at a mile of late and got off the mark at Chepstow in brave fashion to score by a neck. Jonathan Portman's two-year-old is entitled to run well once again here and gets the nod over Mick Appleby's slowly improving Show Princess, while it is always foolish to dismiss Mark Johnston in contests for the youngsters so his Pelice is also considered.

The in-form PJ McDonald partners Hughie Morrison's Compton Mill, who returns to the scene of his latest triumph where he got the better of Indian Chief, who opposes once again and was unlucky in defeat here last week when meeting trouble in running. Capton has a hat-trick in his sights and still looks fairly well handicapped, while track and trip winner Empress Ali has knocked on the door twice since then and must enter calculations. However, Jupiter Light put in a good performance to get within half a length of a progressive rival at Sandown last time and there is every chance he can go one better here if proving just as effective away from his beloved Esher venue, with Frankie Dettori doing the steering once again.

Sepal will no doubt be popular once again in the betting given her attractive, prolific profile but the value may lie elsewhere and she's taken on with STONEY BROKE. A winner here on her only previous visit to the track, she has been staying on well over 1m4f and could be suited by the step up to 1m6f. Silver Link wouldn't be without claims on her recent performances, while Fire Jet is more than capable.

A competitive sprint handicap in which AFRICAN FRIEND has a decent weight and won't be done improving yet. Henry Candy's charge has only had the five runs and there was enough in his latest Sandown effort to suggest the Windsor scorer is capable of exploiting a mark of 78. Bashiba has struggled to land a telling blow in starts at Doncaster and York the last twice but has less on his plate here and cannot be given up on. He joins Appleberry on the shortlist.

Ambitious Icarus is no stranger to success at this venue and rarely runs a bad race either, so he should be bang there at the business end. Preference, though, is for TEEPEE TIME, who arrives on a hat-trick following wins over the distance at Haydock and remains on a decent mark. Wotadoll carries a 6lb penalty for winning impressively at Brighton last week and she can also get involved.
