Plato's Kode has been in fine form in this sphere throughout the summer scoring twice and beaten only a short head at Huntingdon last time. He is one guaranteed to be fully fit and ready to play a key part. However, a chance is taken that useful Flat performer AMADEUS ROX can build on his two hurdles outings so far and those performances should have him spot on for this. Satis House and Something Brewing are others to consider.

Cyrius Moriviere had something of a disaster over fences last season, completing only once in five chase starts, and he heads here with questions to answer. However, that doesn't tell the full extent of his ability and he has claims if back to his best. With that considered, a more solid option may be Tom George's Southwell winner MINELLA ARIS, who should be a well-schooled alternative. Work Du Breteau is another fences winner to consider.

HELLO BERTIE is well thought of by his handler and he is entitled to build on his Perth second when following home the handy Golden Jeffrey. Richard Fahey has a rare National Hunt contender to consider in Judge Earle, while John Mackie is always worthy of consideration with his select squad and Barton Knoll looks to be the main danger to the selection here.

Ballotin has kept good company in France over both hurdles and fences and is worth monitoring closely in the betting now debuting for Philip Hobbs. With the benefit of a recent run to his name, however, preference is for GABRIAL THE GREAT, who rattled the crossbar over hurdles at Southwell last time and could appreciate the return to fences. After Hours placed off this mark latest and could play a minor role.

NO PLANNING didn't mind going back up to this trip when second in the valuable Staffordshire Plate at Uttoxeter back in May and he can make the perfect start to his season dropped in class. The 10-year-old has gone well fresh in the past and could have too much for Just Milly, who was unlucky to bump into one last time out, and Nautical Nitwit, who might not have too much left in hand off his handicap mark.

LITTLE POP has been in great form in recent months and a 5lb rise in the ratings for his latest success may not be enough to stop him from winning again. Nomoreblackjack was highly progressive towards the end of last season and he may have more to offer during this campaign. Today Please and Deadly Approach are others with valid form claims.

SEAMOUR has not been seen over hurdles since his victory over C&D back in December 2014 but in the meantime he has proven himself to be an above-average stayer on the Flat. Those performances suggest that he may be vastly underestimated by a mark of 131 over hurdles. Utility has to be respected based on his victories at Worcester in July, while Keep In Line, Ballyalton and Master Of Irony are others to note.
