Embryonic hurdler Mr Tim produced his best effort to date when upped to this trip at Carlisle but may have to settle for minor honours again because the extra half-mile looks ideal for NOBEL. He was noted staying-on at Kelso last time but is only a tentative selection because Dawn Devoy is progressive, while Downing Street makes appeal on his handicap debut.

Millagros has been kept busy on the level since proving no match for the likes of Cornish Sett and Coat of Honour at Ayr and this is a more realistic assignment. She may have bumped into another smart one, however, becaause ZAFFARAN EXPRESS was good enough to make the frame in Listed company when last seen and a repeat performance should suffice this evening.

Winter Garden ended a six-year losing run when getting off the mark over fences at the 26th attempt, accounting for Snowy in a moderate Kelso event. The runner-up could reverse form on 6lb better terms but both are passed over in favour of NATIVE CORAL who has always threatened to make a better chaser and can be forgiven an abject display over hurdles at Carlisle.

20:00 Perth (Class D) (4YO plus)

Scottish Field Handicap Hurdle

Speed Kris wasn't too far behind the much-improved Commercial Flyer at the Festival here and, on a line through the winner, has the measure of Caesar's Palace. Chaser Aelred is comparitively well-treated but yet to fire over timber so the vote goes to THOUTMOSIS who appears to be at the handicapper's mercy but a sharp rise in trip could spark further improvement.

Famous Grouse Handicap Chase

Little Flora ran out an emphatic winner on only her second chasing start at Kelso, numbering Fiori among her victims, but an 11lb rise may prove her undoing. In contrast, BROWN TEDDY remains on a reasonable mark, despite acquitting himself well against better opposition of late. He can take advantage of this easier assignment but Runner Bean boasts a solid strike-rate and won't be far away.

6

21:00 Perth (Class F) (4YO plus)

Steadfast Scotland Handicap Hurdle

2m 110y

Apart from a Kelso failure at his last start, POLYPHON has been racing in great heart over fences and drops a massive 20lb as he ventures into this sphere. He should be able to regain the winning thread at the expense of handicap debutant The Rip who was fourth in a much better Newcastle contest. Prince Adjal hasn't won for a while but his latest Sedgefield effort suggests he could make the frame.
