SLANEY STAR appreciated the drop to selling company when getting off the mark at Worcester with a 10-length success. He was subsequently sold for 3,800 guineas and can make his mark for his new connections here. One For Hocky landed a Newcastle bumper on debut and hinted that he might be returning to form when second at this track recently. He looks the biggest danger to the selection, but Diamond Gesture also deserves plenty of respect after finishing a close third when last sighted.

It might be worth trying a newcomer to chasing as THE CHIEF VILLAIN was narrowly denied over hurdles at this venue last month. He hung badly to the right on that occasion, bringing his temperament into question, so perhaps Blueside Boy is an most attractive alternative as he is dropped in trip after failing to see out an extended 2m5f at Kelso in March. Rowdy Rocher deserves a market check on his return from a 505-day absence as he has exhibited promise in the past.

Dr Moloney makes plenty of appeal after getting his head in front in maiden company over track and trip, leaving a future winner back in third. NEVER NEVER might be the one to side with, though, as he made most of the running at this venue when runner-up last month, but had shown an aptitude for sharper trips when scoring at Cartmel and can bounce back now dropped in distance. Vengeur De Guye deserves a cursory market check on his debut for new connections, but has a 507-day absence to overcome.

LOS NADIS and Ryton Runner renew rivalries after battling out a finish over track and trip last month. The first-named horse got the better of his rival with a determined performance on that occasion, but is 1lb worse off for a half-length victory, so may have his mettle tested if wanting to uphold that form. Carlanstown is a winning pointer and deserves plenty of respect for leading connections despite failing to justify favouritism on his debut under Rules.

PLAYHARA had looked most progressive when landing four successive victories and climbing from a rating of 93 to 119. A fall at Cartmel last month blotted her copybook but if that hasn't had an adverse effect she can bounce back in this more modest test. Pumped Up Kicks flopped when favourite at Tipperary recently, but had scored at this venue prior to that, and looks the biggest danger to the selection if regaining some form here. Badged is consistent and looks the best of the rest.

17:50 Perth (Class 2) (4YO plus)

GABRIAL THE GREAT bids for a four-timer after landing his hat-trick by 46 lengths over track and trip and looks the one to side with. Gold Futures boasts the same rating as the selection and earned his third successive win when landing a Market Rasen handicap last month. He looks the main danger, but Gassin Golf deserves plenty of respect as he has been banging loudly on the door this year (including when runner-up in the Imperial Cup) and still gives the impression that he is unexposed.

LORD OF DRUMS might be worth another try as he was running a decent race when falling at his track last month and can bounce back now on his last winning mark and with a first-time hood fitted. Peachey Moment also appears to have dropped to a workable mark, but will need to show more than he did at this venue recently, while Dotties Dilema and Blazin White Face deserve closer market inspection with the latter particularly intriguing after 438 days on the sidelines.
