Ashva began his career in a hot maiden at York's Ebor meeting last month and can be expected to improve from that initial experience but MALE MODEL seems sure to go off a warm order this afternoon and could prove hard to beat. The Iffraaj colt made a debut full of promise when third on the all-weather at Kempton earlier this month and with that from looking sound, he is fancied to continue Godolphin's fine record at the Northern venue. Homeboy and Baileys Moneypenny both went well last time but handicaps could prove their future.
Male Model's debut third at Kempton recently is clearly the best form on offer here, but watch out for an improved showing from the imposing Ashva, who caught the eye at York last month and may represent an each-way value alternative. Colonel Percy could be best of the newcomers.

REASON TO BELIEVE clearly appreciated the return to 6f when making a winning handicap debut at Hamilton on Sunday, scoring with a little bit to spare, and he looks as if a mile on this fast track will be well within his compass. He gets the vote to defy a 6lb penalty ahead of another penalised runner, Ree's Rascal, who was an easy victor at Kempton last week although he does need to prove himself as effect returning to turf. The consistent Regimental rates best of the rest.
Ree's Rascal has got in lightly here under a penalty for his Kempton win a week ago, and there's little to suggest he won't prove effective on turf also. Sunday's Hamilton winner Reason To Believe has stamina to prove over this extra 2f, so Regimental may fare best of the rest.

Wide open but BATELEUR has been in really good form of late and looked like a return to the winners enclosure was imminent when only finding one too strong over this trip at Brighton last time. Racing off the same mark this afternoon, his claims would appear as sound as ever although Secret City was second over this C&D two starts ago and is clearly very capable when in the mood. Bath runner-up The Happy Hammer is another to consider along with C&D winner Clerical and Arch Walker who shaped with more encouragement last time.
Tawzeea was having his first run for Michael Dods when shaping with encouragement last time, and is very much one to be interested in from his current mark. Forever's Girl and Arch Walker are 2 others to consider in a wide-open affair.

However, Dandy Nicholls charge is much better suited by a stiffer test of stamina, as proved by his game victory over an extended mile at Hamilton last time. Back to his best now, he is fancied to land a remarkable nineteenth career success this afternoon.

Destiny Blue is sure to prove a popular selection after he got off the mark in eye-catching fashion over 1m at Yarmouth last week but the switch to easy ground may have been the reason for that improvement and he doesn't look like one to steam into back on a quick surface today. Avitus and Dandarrell have been knocking on the door but the vote goes to KIAMA BAY, who looked crying out for further when opening his account at the fifth attempt over 1m at Hamilton last time out and the form of that race has worked out very well. That was 15 months ago and he has clearly had his problems since, but the John Quinn team have been in good heart of late and he looks worth a chance on his return in this company.
Destiny Blue should stay this far, and is hard to oppose under a penalty having bolted up at Yarmouth last week. John Quinn's stable is now back in business after a quiet spell and Kiama Bay is worth a look despite his long absence, while the consistent Avitus is not out of it either.

PRINCE APOLLO is the highest rated in the line-up and could make his quality tell as he drops in class. The ex-French gelding is yet to sparkle on these shores but this is by far his easiest assignment and the booking of Paul Hanagan looks a positive one. Chantilly Pearl went very close to making a winning first outing in selling company over this trip at Ripon latest and she makes the shortlist, along with Chris Wall's Free As A Lark.
Ex-French Prince Apollo was useful at one time, but he looks risky having been well held since coming to Britain, so Free As A Lark is preferred with Chantilly Pearl also likely to figure.

The race was run to suit Select Committee when John Quinn's gelding scored at Beverley last week so he is far from ceratin to follow up under a 6lb penalty and it would be no surprise to see Bedloe's Island, who two lengths back in third on the Westwood, turn the tables today on revised terms. Secret Venue has run some good races in defeat in recent months and isn't easy to omit but the one to be on could be RIO'S GIRL, who looked sure to land the hat-trick before handing badly late on at Ayr last month and was eventually touched off. She is heading in the right direction, however, and looks the safest bet with further progress expected.
Rio's Girl was only just denied in her hat-trick bid last time and is taken to resume winning ways following a breather. Angelo Poliziano is in a consistent vein and has Hanagan up, while Bedloe's Island could also figure if going the right way for last week's belated return.
