Collingham Park has shaped really well in a couple of starts over five furlongs and is sure to be suited by this step up in trip, while Shaheen wasn't disgraced on his Newcastle debut and should have better to offer. However, Richard Fahey looks to have assembled another strong team of juveniles this year and the Malton handler takes thew wraps off SANDIE GEM, a well-bred filly who will know her job first time up.

CONTROL CENTRE was always doing when enough when beating Love Oasis at Hamilton last week and with that one since winning at Ayr, the form certainly looks strong. Majorie Fife's charge looks well treated under a 6lb penalty but will need to be if he is to see off Kaeso, a progressive sprinter who comes into this on a hat-trick following a thumping success at Redcar. The consistent Springforth can prove best of the rest.

INDY didn't shape too badly on his first start for this stable at Leicester recently and he looks very well handicapped at present if able to recapture his best form. Toboggan's Fire (engaged to run at Hamilton yesterday) has been in good form on the all-weather of late and won't be inconvenienced by returning to turf, while Sands Chorus is also respected. The latter failed to fire at Chester last time but won narrowly here previously and ought to go well again.

Candelisa failed to fire at Newbury but holds obvious claims on his previous Spring Mile third at Doncaster. A return to form from him would not surprise while his old foe, Stamp Hill, will like conditions and cannot be discounted. Course specialist Gurkha Friend has won his late two now and merits obvious respect but KHARBETATION looks a horse with a bright future and is preferred. David O'Meara's charge bolted up on his Thirsk debut almost a year ago and is bred to appreciate a little bit of cut underfoot.

REINSTORM gamely held on at Beverley last time and those battling qualities could see Richard Fahey's gelding play a key part once again here following a fair 5lb rise from the assessor. Metronomic was last seen scoring over course and distance in a selling contest and makes his first start for his new handler Peter Niven having been claimed from Richard Hannon, while Barwell is also worthy of consideration on a step up in distance following a career best at Thirsk last time.

Sir Michael Stoute's Juddmonte candidate, Highland Cradle, demands respect here and may appreciate dropping back in trip here having faltered when favourite over further at Windsor, while there should be more to come from the Charlie Hills-trained Anif on his second racecourse sighting. However, LIQUID GOLD bumped into a likeable horse of Roger Varian's on debut at Beverley and the way he was doing his best work at the end suggests he shouldn't be too far away here.

HURRICANE HOLLOW put up his best performance for David Barron at Thirsk last time on the gelding's first turf appearance for his new handler and the former Dan Skelton hurdler could step up once again on his handicap bow. Mark Johnston's Gold Merlion has to be respected despite disappointing lately, while the main danger may come from Young Tom who can be forgiven his Yarmouth run and is running off the same mark as his Southwell second.
