GALACTIQUE struggled to make an impact in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham when last seen in November, but his two previous victories at Fontwell suggest that a mark of 117 should be workable on his handicap debut. His stablemate The Bellhop could prove to be the main danger following his own impressive success at Fontwell. Any market support for Bibe Mus on his debut for these connections should be noted, while Superkap is another to consider.
Top weight Bibe Mus is likely to prove popular starting out for a new yard having shown a good level of form in Ireland and the UK. He looks well treated on his Listed run and with his form working out well is greatly respected. However the form of GALACTIQUE's victories is also working out well and he could be the answer for a yard with an excellent record here. He is excused his latest run where he was outclassed and found the ground too testing but the drying surface here can see him bounce back. Of those at bigger prices Knighton makes some appeal for an in form stable. He proved steadily progressive in maidens and looks to have been given a fair opening mark.

In another wide-open renewal of this valuable contest, marginal preference is for KAKA'S COUSIN. The six-year-old took a big step forward when readily winning at Kelso a month ago and, given that the second has subsequently filled the same position at Grade 2 level, a mark of 126 may underestimate his ability. Scorpio Rising won a similar event at Windsor in January and is likely to be in the mix once again. Laguna Beach is a handicap debutant to note, while Draco Malfoy completes the shortlist.
Plenty of unexposed types who could be a long way ahead of their marks. It was hard not to be impressed with JURY'S IN's win last time and he is fancied to follow up on his handicap debut. His point win suggests this stiffer track will suit and he already looks better than his opening rating. The same can be said of Wolf Walker who proved consistent in novices with his point and bumper form suggesting he will relish this longer trip on his handicap bow. He looks the main danger ahead of Four Springs who showed the benefit of a wind op last time and should have a bit more to offer with cheekpieces added.

Having won the last two renewals, Go Dante has to be respected and a wind operation since his last run may help his chances. That said, preference is for MONDO MAN, who was fourth off this mark in a very competitive handicap at Ascot before Christmas and has subsequently bolted up in a maiden hurdle at Plumpton. Wreckless Eric and Afadil made the frame 12 months ago and shouldn't be far away, with Rubber Ball and General Briar also firmly in contention.
Dual winner of this Go Dante is likely to prove popular given his excellent course record but he may be a bit too high in the weights this year and he faces a host of unexposed rivals. MONDO MAN was good enough to run in the French Derby on the Flat and looked to have finally got his jumping together last time when dropped in class. He caught the eye on his previous handicap run where he was given far too much to do in a race dominated from the front and can surely take advantage of a lenient mark soon. Jack Hyde is another who was caught too far back last time on his first start after a wind op and he will appreciate the return to this slightly better surface. Racing off what looks a fair mark based on his Grade 3 form he can fill the places with Brace For Landing. He been steadily progressing since a move from France and wasn't given a hard time here last time. That looked a sighter for this and his shrewd yard is always feared in races of this nature.

The Flaggy Shore was well supported ahead of her Market Rasen assignment in similar company, but she was a bit disappointing in the end to only finish second to Malina Road and that form took a knock at Newbury recently. Carlisle winner Lune Brillante is surely better than her Huntingdon showing and is noted, but point-to-point scorer BURDS OF A FEATHER could be anything judged on her sparkling Rules debut at Warwick and she gets the nod.
BURDS OF A FEATHER landed a big gamble in impressive fashion first time out beating a couple of useful yardsticks and she may be able to take this step up in class in her stride. This track could suit her run style and the stiff finish will suit given she has won a point over 3m. The standard is probably set by The Flaggy Shore after she came clear with the winner at this level last time. She does have a bit to find with the selection on collateral but can chase her home. Kamille Au Kanada could be of interest at a bigger price for a yard with a good record in this discipline. She lacks experience under rules but her point win has been boosted in a bumper so any market support would be notable.

Connections wasted little time in switching CALIMYSTIC to chasing and he came good at the first attempt when winning at Newbury. That was his first run of the season and, given he's open to stacks more improvement, he can be expected to play a prominent role. Bucksy Des Epeires is more experienced over the larger obstacles and comes in here on the back of win too, at Ludlow, so is also taken seriously. Soldierofthestorm made a pleasing start to life over fences when second at Hereford in January and there should be more to come, but it's hard to get away from MR HOPE STREET. Dan Skelton's gelding finished behind The Jukebox Man at Haydock most recently and that form makes a mark of 131 look workable, so he looks the way to go. Just Over Land is another to consider.
MR HOPE STREET can defy top weight. He returns to handicaps off what looks a generous mark based on his narrow defeat last time behind the King George winner and the Grand National favourite. The drying ground will suit on his return from a break as it will Captain Bellamy who struggled on heavy last time. He had a valid excuse that day and the form of his previous runner up effort has been boosted. He is well treated on his hurdle form so should be winning soon in this sphere and looks a big player here. Soldierofthestorm came clear with a progressive rival who has won again since on his chase debut so also has to be respected off just 3lb higher.

After a disappointing defeat at Windsor, NORN IRON made amends when sporting a first-time tongue-tie over track and trip in January. Harry Derham's eight-year-old has an 8lb higher mark to contend with but, considering the manner of that success, he looks the one to beat. Toothless rarely runs a bad race and a repeat of his second at Ludlow gives him a chance, while First Angel is far from out of it either.
A tight contest where none of the quartet can be ruled out. It was hard not to be impressed by NORN IRON's victory here last time though and he had a couple of next time out winners in behind so is fancied to defy an 8lb rise. Toothless has had his issues but he's been progressing since a lay off and his last run is worth marking up as he was ridden too aggressively. He is a threat but will face competition for the lead from First Angel who was hugely progressive when last seen. He returns off a generous mark with a notable jockey booking but his fitness must be taken on trust after an absence of more than a year.
