Having recently finished a close-up second on her second outing at Brighton, Green Dame is still open to improvement and she must enter calculations. However, SCHRODINGER'S CAT was narrowly denied on his latest start at Ripon and that form looks a shade stronger. Last month's Windsor runner-up Akirra is another heading in the right direction and could also be in the thick of the action.
SCHRODINGER'S CAT has been admirably consistent and demonstrated a high level of form but frustratingly remains a maiden. He's been beaten a total of four lengths in five narrow defeats since a modest debut in May, and sent off favourite the last three times. This could be his breakthrough day. Green Dame has a fair bit to make up on the selection but improved on a promising debut when just touched off at Brighton and looks a nice prospect. George Boughey's filly probably didn't quite see out the 6f last time and can do better still dropped back to a stiff 5f and should go well. Akirra just failed to make all last time when chinned on the line and looks a serious threat if able to build on that

LIPSINK showed a willing attitude to fend of all challengers over C&D a fortnight ago and a 4lb higher mark looks workable. That form has worked out reasonably well and Mick Appleby's veteran is turned out before a further 1lb rise takes effect. Sandscreendeliverd opened his account at Lingfield (turf) last month and is a feasible alternative to the selection, along with handicap debutant Trafalger.
FOUR ADAAY had been pretty competitive in the latter part of this season but took a marked step forward as soon as he had some give in the ground and landed a first win of the year. That came off 59 and he has a 2lb rise to contend with but his previous win came over CD off 65 in soft ground and with plenty of cut in the ground today he can score again. At the other end of the experience scale, Trafalger is interesting on handicap debut off a mark of 71 which looks generous on the back of two solid seconds in novice events the last twice. Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding should give a good acount. Lipsink is also feared kept to this grade havng won over CD last time on soft ground. A four pound rise makes it tougher but he attained slightly higher levels last term and could find a bit more

On Message shaped with plenty of promise when fourth on debut over 7f at Newmarket, but she may have her work cut out to repel reopposing second ENCHANTED QUEEN. Charlie Appleby's filly found only an exciting prospect too strong on that opening bid and the daughter of Ghaiyyath should relish the extra furlong. Sea The Storm is the pick of the newcomers and market support would be interesting.
Those with experience haven't set the World alight and so both Sea The Storm and Annastarzy make some appeal on debut, with marginal preference for the former. However, ENCHANTED QUEEN showed enough first time out to suggest she's pretty capable, and given her middle-distance breeding should appreciate the step up to a mile on her second start. SUSPENDED SENTENCE showed a willing attitude to repel a strong challenge from the runner-up at Ripon. He could prove better than his opening mark, given the second has won since, and a bold bid is anticipated from Michael Bell's colt. Champion Island faced a tougher test in a nursery over 7f at York, but his Goodwood third on heavy ground before that suggests this extra yardage will suit. Magnatura is worth a second look on his handicap bow.
A small but tight affair with all in with a shout. CHAMPION ISLAND appeals most. Charlie Johnston's colt didn't handle the quick ground at York when beating just one home but before that was beaten just over a length in two nurseries and looked well handicapped. Eased in grade he can get back on track and put up a bold bid from the front. Magnatura looks well-treated on his nursery handicap debut and looks the biggest threat if able to replicate his novice form, while there could be plenty more to come from the steadily progressive Suspended Sentence, who has also been handed a workable opening mark for his handicap bow

Recent Goodwood third Billyjoh could land a blow in this lower grade, while Crimson Spirit merits consideration on last month's second off this mark at Musselburgh. CROWN BOARD has been set a series of stiff tasks this season, but remains of interest on his creditable fourth in a Listed contest here at this time last year. A return to that level would make Jane Chapple-Hyam's unexposed five-year-old hard to beat.
BLUE FOR YOU has genrally struggled this year in classy handicaps but has shown glimpses on occasions and from a career low mark can bounce back eased in grade. SUNLIT UPLANDS did well to score on her handicap bow at Haydock in May considering she was hampered at the start and checked when making headway. A 4lb rise seems more than fair and a wind operation may well be another source of improvement. Tropical Heat commands plenty of respect in her hat-trick bid, while Bint Mohaather and Dancing Colours are others capable of further progression.
The one that makes most appeal in a fiendishly tight affair is BINT MOHAATHER who made an encouraging handicap debut when third at Goodwood in late August. She didn't get home that day trying a mile for the first time and can step up considerably on that effort now dropped back to 7f, over which she scooted home by four lengths on her second career run. Sunlit Uplands made an even more striking handicap debut when scoring at Haydock over 7f. A four pound rise is more than fair and Rae Guest's filly shouldn't be far away. Jakarta relished soft conditions when last seen in October last year and still looks well-treated off four pound extra. If Oliver Cole's filly is tuned up for this return (market should offer clues) she should go well and challenge for honours but Brave Byreflection is a more solid alternative at likely decent odds. Her latest run at York is probably best excused as he ran on the wrong side and can get back on an upward trajectory
