BETTY BALOO bumped into a useful prospect when second over course and distance earlier this month and the daughter of Schiaparelli is tipped to land her first win over obstacles. Bolintlea posted some solid efforts in bumpers and may have more to offer on her hurdling debut, while Nora The Xplorer has switched to Donald McCain since finishing third at Exeter last April and cannot be ruled out either.

A multiple course winner over hurdles, JUST CALL ME AL posted another creditable effort when finishing second over the larger obstacles at Musselburgh on his latest start, bumping into an in-form rival but pulling well clear of the rest. A first win over fences may be in the offing for the nine-year-old and he is favoured ahead of Road Warrior, who also boasts a good record at this track. Monsieur Co drops in grade and is another to consider.

The Jonjo O'Neill-trained ANYHARMINASKING could hardly have been more impressive when winning at Catterick last time and, despite facing a tougher task now, the unexposed five-year-old is the clear pick. Course winner Gordon's Jet ran respectably when third at Doncaster on his latest start and looks next best, while Irish raider Ellaat proved progressive over hurdles towards the end of last year and is another to note.

HEARTBREAK KID has been running well in defeat of late and that includes a second-placed finish over 2m at Ayr three weeks ago. Off a 1lb lower mark today, the son of Getaway should take plenty of stopping. Crack Du Ninian was a place behind the selection on that occasion and could chase him home once again, while Calidad is the pick of the remainder.

FIGHTFORTHEROSES got off the mark over hurdles with an impressive victory over 2m4f at this track a couple of weeks ago and a 6lb rise in the ratings may still underestimate this seven-year-old. Hungry Tiger has been knocking hard on the door of late and he should be in the mix once again this afternoon. Others to note are Be The Difference and Onehundredpercent.

DALKINGSTOWN was an impressive winner of a similar contest at this track 16 days ago and the in-form eight-year-old is hard to oppose today, despite a 7lb rise in the ratings. Tanora was only narrowly denied at Catterick last time and she could prove to be the main danger, although Light Flicker is also capable of making the frame this afternoon.

STOKES was not disgraced when finishing second behind a smart prospect at Newcastle earlier this month. The seven-year-old gelding might be able to get an easy lead in this contest and he looks to have been given a workable mark of 106 for his handicap debut. Evita Du Mesnil was a game performer when holding all of her rivals to score by a neck at Kelso and she is respected off a 2lb higher mark, while Enlighten and Tiger Jet complete the shortlist.

Cases can be made for a few of these but the casting vote goes to FAME VALLEY, who took a step in the right direction when finishing second at Ayr on his handicap debut earlier this month. The seven-year-old gelding remains lightly raced over timber and he could have more to offer after a 2lb rise. Demi Sang bounced back to form when scoring at Wetherby on his stable debut for Sara Ender and he rates as the main danger to the selection, while Set In Stone and The Steward are both unlikely to be far away.
