DEEJAN was too keen for her own good when fourth at Chepstow last month but that performance suggested she will be winning races over hurdles before long and today could be her day now switched to handicaps with Richard Johnson in the saddle for the first time. Jessica may also have more to offer as she gains experience and she's worth another chance at the trip, while Tavalu and Speedy Directa are respected if bouncing back to form.

This will not take much winning and although seeking his first chase success having had 12 previous attempts, Donald McCain's dual hurdle winner BALLABROOK looks the one to be on as he takes a significant drop back in trip. Sagunt is less exposed in this code having had just the one public outing over birch but he was soon beaten at Hereford earlier in the month and has plenty to prove. Cash 'N Carrots was last seen under Rules finishing last in a selling handicap chase in October 2006, while Mr Johnson has more letters than numbers in his form string.

Rawaaj gained a deserved success at Carlisle last month but a 5lb rise for that head success will make life tougher and the ground is much quicker on this occasion. Top weight Olympian is respected and it's unlikely we've seen the best of Glorybe just yet but the vote goes to KADOUCHSKI. He has been in good form in both codes in recent months and is only 1lb higher than when second here on his latest hurdles outing last month.

JOLLY BOYS OUTING opened his NH account with a comfortable success over this C&D last month, clearly enjoying the good ground, and the manner in which he did it suggests an 11lb hike in the weights may not be enough to scupper the follow-up plans this afternoon. Speed Bonnie Boat was third to the selection last time and could get much closer on the revised terms, but a bigger threat is likely to be posed by De Bansha Man, who is 3lb lower than when third at Wincanton on his return from a short break last time.

Nicky Henderson's LIFESTYLE should take the world of beating with a clear round. The five-year-old mare has won two of her three hurdle starts to date, the sole defeat coming at the hands of subsequent Aintree winner Topolski, and she drew clear in very good style when winning at Ludlow earlier in the month. In receipt of 7lb, Omokoroa looks the main danger, although he's yet to be placed in four hurdle starts and might be of more interesting when sent handicapping. Red Whisper seems to be improving but has plenty more to find.

RED JESTER looked on the verge of a sixth career win when narrowly denied by a well-treated rival over this C&D last week and the battle-hardened 10-year-old is worth siding with off the same handicap mark this afternoon. Papradon is back on a fair mark but remains 10lb higher than for his sole chase success, while top weight See You Jack is entitled to have learned a great deal from his introduction to fences at Stratford earlier in the month.

It's hard to think there won't be more to come from Nicky Henderson's filly Final Cast, who was a well-beaten sixth on her Ludlow debut, but she clearly has a lot to find to get the better of SKENAKILLA CROSS. The David O'Meara-trained Flemensfirth mare showed up really well for a long way before tiring into fourth at Market Rasen. That initial outing should have brought her forward mentally and physically and a bold bid is on the cards. Water Rose and Wilde Ruby are newcomers to consider if the betting market speaks favourably.
