It's hard to see beyond SPEED MASTER for the answer to this. Unbeaten in two starts over hurdles, he looked to have plenty in hand both times and we may not have seen the best of him just yet. The only credible threat appears to be point-to-point winner Bobcatbilly, a creditable fourth at Ascot on his hurdling debut. He should improve for the experience but has plenty to find with the selection. Monkey Milan, a bumper winner over C&D, ran well at Doncaster last time on his second start over timber and could make the frame.
There's no need to get too imaginative with this, as Speed Master has made an excellent start to his hurdling career and shouldn't have much trouble defying a double penalty. The good-looking Bobcatbilly ranks as the obvious danger.

BAILE ANRAI fell three out at Wincanton on his chasing debut and looked held at the time but that was in a Grade 2 event and he had run with credit up until then. He's worth giving another chance in this grade. Battle Group was a good second in a similar contest to this at Wetherby last month on his chasing debut and could take advantage if the selection fails to deliver. Uttoxeter hurdle winner Carabinier was well beaten at Newbury on his chasing bow but should be open to further improvement and can lead the rest home.
Battle Group has more than enough ability to take high rank over fences, but he remains a risky betting proposition in view of his suspect temperament and preference is for Baile Anrai, who jumped soundly enough before falling behind a top chasing prospect at Wincanton last month.

After a summer break HALUCHA has hit top form, winning two of his four starts this winter. He's up just 4lb after scoring comfortably over this trip at Ludlow earlier in the month and he should be capable of following up. Tiger Line is in form and looks the one for the forecast, while Overafrica has been placed in his last two starts but well held both times. Washington Road has something to find but has shown ability and can't be ruled out.
Washington Road looks set to improve for the step up in trip and is fancied to get the better of handicap debutant Ballintubber Cross. Halucha returned to form at Ludlow last time and the former C&D winner is another to consider.

There should be little between Bohemian Rock and Phar Again, first and second over this demanding track last time. The latter is 2lb better off for a length and, with another close tussle anticipated, it may be best to look elsewhere, with SAWPIT SUPREME an appealing alternative. Venetia Williams' mare took a heavy fall at Hereford last time but she's presumably none the worse and has clear claims at her best. Pensnett Bay, much improved last time, completes the shortlist.
Sawpit Supreme looked all set to make the frame for a second time in succession until falling 2 out on his latest start and this looks a good opportunity to resume winning ways. Bohemian Rock and Phar Again fought out the finish when they clashed here earlier in the month and the pair should once again be in the firing line.

JOHNS SPIRIT concedes weight all round and there would be real reservations about his chance should the ground deteriorate significantly. However, on current conditions he may have too much quality for his rivals after following up a smooth Stratford success with a narrow Bangor defeat. Loose Chips, improving with his racing, looked in need of a trip when staying on well over further at Plumpton last time. This is a demanding track though and he remains the danger, with Gores Island an each-way option.
An excellent opportunity for Johns Spirit to get back to winning ways after shaping well in handicap company last time. True Blue is surely better than he's shown to date given the strength behind him in the betting on both starts under Rules, whilst Loose Chips would also have place claims if taking to hurdling.

UKRAINIAN STAR appeared to benefit from the application of blinkers (worn again today) when gamely landing a hurdle race over 3m2f at Hereford last time and, lining up off the same mark on his chasing return, he gets the confident vote follow up. Musical Wedge ran a blinder, finishing second, on just his second start over fences here recently and he should give another good account in this, while C&D winner Overton Lad is also worthy of consideration.
Guydus can race off his correct mark here and, now dropped to a more suitable trip, is taken to get the better of Ukrainian Star and Musical Wedge.
