The drop to this trip did the trick as RHAL opened her account with ease over C&D a week ago, coming home two lengths clear of the reopposing Reachtothestars. Bryan Smart's charge has to shoulder a 6lb penalty as a result but she is well drawn and a repeat performance should make her very hard to beat again. William Wainwright and Scommettitrice were third and fourth respectively behind the selection seven days ago and can do battle for the bronze medal again.

SADAFIYA and Acclamazing are the ones to concentrate on here. The latter is sure to prove very popular on the back of a 7f double at this venue, including a comfortable success off a 6lb lower mark when fitted with a tongue-tie latest, and there could be plenty more to come. The drop in trip is a slight concern, however, and the tentative vote goes to Ed Dunlop's filly, who won twice on polytrack (once over C&D) before finishing a close third in a competitive Newbury nursery when last seen in September. That ground was probably a little softer than ideal that day and, returning to the all-weather for a stable in excellent form, she can make a winning reappearance. Restless Bay rates best of the remainder.

Leyte Gulf, a winner here in November, hinted his turn was near again when beaten a length and a half into second over C&D last time out. Another bold bid beckons but, off a 1lb higher mark, he may have to play second fiddle again, this time to LITTLE RICHARD, a winner at Kempton prior to his C&D third off this mark 13 days ago. He stayed on well having been given plenty to do that day and can strike if in range this time around. War Of The Roses is not the force of old but showed he is still competitive at this level when landing a 1m4f contest here off a 2lb lower mark on his latest outing.

MAJURO was nailed on the line when bidding for a hat-trick in this grade over 1m2f at Lingfield latest, with the reopposing The Which Doctor three quarters of a length back in third and they can fight it out for top honours this evening. Having run out a facile winner over C&D on his penultimate outing, Frank Sheridan's charge will relish the return to this track and trip and he gets the confident nod. Plush can get the better of Yossi for third place.

Beating Harmony did well to get within a neck over 7f here on Friday considering he raced some way off the ordinary pace and must be on the shortlist back up in trip tonight. However, he is still a maiden after 14 starts and looks worth opposing, possibly with GOAL who avoids a penalty for his near two-length success in a 1m apprentices' event at Southwell last week. That first career victory will have boosted his confidence and a double beckons if he can reproduce that form on polytrack. The assessor doesn't appear to have done Michael Bell's Twinkled any favours on his handicap bow but Bertue Blu Boy, who wasn't beaten far over a furlong further here on his first handicap start off 1lb higher, can play a leading role.

Narrow 1m wins at Lingfield and Kempton see EASTERN GIFT arrive here on a hat-trick and he is taken to do the business again. Most of the 6lb rise for his head success latest is negated by the booking of smart 5lb claimer Adam Bechizza and the manner in which he flew home last week suggests this longer trip will be right up his street. He could be given plenty to think about, however, by Needwood Ridge, a shock C&D winner on his Flat debut before and finishing a creditable third in a similar event to this 15 days ago. Further progress looks likely. Mr Emirati can lead the rest home.

Prince Of Passion and Amelia's Surprise are expected to have more to offer tonight after moderate openers but they will do well to get the better of CRUCIS ABBEY, whose third over 6f here on his final start of 2010 has worked out well with the second, fourth and seventh all scoring since. The James Unett-trained gelding can make a successful return to action at the chief expense of Step And Fetch, who ran green on debut over C&D earlier this month before making eye-catching late headway to claim the bronze medal. Significant improvement could be on the cards with that initial experience under her belt.
