Henry The Seventh was second on polytrack at Lingfield last month and his experience on the surface gives him a big edge over these rivals. However, APACHE DAWN, a head second to Victor Trumper over 7f at Warwick, makes more appeal on his all-weather debut and gets the vote. Fujisan suggested that there was more to come on his debut and looks the best of the rest.

Savernake Blue is running better than his form figures suggest and has a chance off today's mark. Rosein just got the better of Mambazo over C&D last month, but is 1lb worse off now and there is little to choose between them. FOREIGN EDITION tackles the all-weather for the first time but he is a useful sort who can take this if handling the surface.

LEOPARD KING, a 400,000-dollar Kingmambo foal, had his Group 1 hopes dashed after defeat at the hands of Captain Marvelous at Newbury, but it was a decent performance and he should prove too good for these rivals. Heywood, three times a winner including once on polytrack, looks the danger, while Lady Grace could run well.

Chasing A Dream, Escape Clause and Just Logic have gone close several times and should be in the shake-up here, but they are starting to look exposed and it could pay to side with all-weather debutante RED COUNTESS who has twice run well over 1m2f at Newbury. The slight drop in trip should help and she looks open to improvement after just two starts.

16:10 Wolverhampton (Class 3) (3YO plus)

With three runners in the race - Shelhom, Kilworth and Desert Destiny - Godolphin have strong claims here. Listed winner St Andrew is another with a chance, but it's worth siding with MOMTIC, winner of a York stakes race in July and not far away in Group 3 company on his penultimate start. His class could tell today.

6

16:40 Wolverhampton (Class 5) (3YO plus)

107.7 The Wolf Stayers Handicap

Synonymy is well weighted on his latest effort but doesn't look the most reliable, while the handicapper appears to have the measure of polytrack specialist French Mannequin. Reinstated is a consistent sort but is rising in the weights, so preference is for SALUTE, a winner at Sandown in June and feasibly treated on his recent third here.

7

17:10 Wolverhampton (Class 5) (3YO & 4YO)

Tim Haycock Drive Maiden Stakes (Div 2)

Kilgary and Spinning Reel ran well when making their debuts on turf and could take a hand if suited by this surface. Ifatfirst is another likely improver, but he might find one too good in the shape of KHUN JOHN who promised much when fourth on his debut, over 1m on Lingfield's polytrack, and should have improved enough to take this.
