The 73-rated Sir Roger Moore drops back in trip after finishing fifth over 7f at Kempton earlier in the month and is unlikely to be far away now sprinting again, though marginal preference is for the less exposed GOROKAI. The selection could have been freshened up by a break since finishing down the field in a valuable sales race at HQ and he only has 1lb to find with the first-named on official figures. Showdaisy is entitled to build on her C&D fourth on debut and could also take a hand.

This looks a good opportunity for SIR ROGER MOORE to finally open his account with question marks hanging over David Simcock's Gorokai. Showdaisy may well fare best of the remainder.

Chookie Royale is one of the highest-rated runners in the race on official figures and can take some catching when slipping into the lead over this trip. He's berthed wide here, however, and Elysian Flyer and Skinny Love provide potential competition for the lead for him. A safer alternative may therefore be SIR MAXIMILIAN, a Group 3 winner on turf and a Listed scorer on synthetics that should be finishing with a late rattle from off the pace. Hawkesbury and Horsted Keynes similarly return from absences but also have the requisite class to figure.

DOUGAN struck over 6f on his handicap debut at Lingfield last time and ran on well to get on top in the final 50 yards. This additional furlong appears ideal for continuing his improvement so he's taken to defy a 4lb rise to land a double. My Target rattled the crossbar over this trip at Kempton last time and has place claims along with Foreign Diplomat, who shaped as if a seventh furlong would be ideal when scoring over 6f off 3lb lower at Chelmsford City last time out.

TAKE THE HELM got up by a head to score over 7f here earlier in the month and is expected to benefit from this step up in trip as he bids to shake off a subsequent 4lb rise. Canford Crossing has placed form over this trip in maidens and is worth a market check on his handicap bow, while his stablemate Ritasun appeared to win a shade cosily over track and trip last time and could also be keeping on well late on.

SECOND WAVE suffered a surprise defeat at Chelmsford last time out but this stiffer test could spark some improvement from Charlie Appleby's three-year-old, who still makes strong appeal on his penultimate performance when victorious at Kempton - form which has worked out really nicely. Brocklebank should be finishing his race off well from the rear while Solar Deity, beaten by under a length off 1lb lower at Chelmsford in October, is also capable of making his presence felt at this level.
