Hard To Handel struck in a C&D seller two weeks ago and will need to raise his game if he's to follow up back in a handicap. Oratorio's Joy usually runs his race and is expected to give a good account on his return from a break, so preferred ahead of both is THREEDIAMONDRINGS. Brendan Powell's three-year-old has held his form well since going handicapping and underlined his effectiveness under these conditions when third over track and trip earlier in the month.

MAILSHOT should find this a more realistic assignment than the Listed contest he finished last of five in on a trip to Turkey last time and makes plenty of appeal on his novice win at Kempton in June, when he made his own running and knuckled down well to score by a neck. If his stamina holds out over this longer trip, he could see off his stablemate Hochfeld, a recent C&D winner, and also David Evans representative Letmestopyouthere, who steps up from 7f, in order to score.

74-rated Charlie Hills representative Coral Sea sets the standard for the rest to aim at, though it might be worth taking a chance on newcomer WISHING TIME, a Frankel filly who is out of a sprint winner and could give a good account of herself on debut for David O'Meara. Speed Freak is banking on first-time blinkers sparking immediate improvement, while Tony Carroll's new recruit De Vegas Kid needs to prove his speed for the trip now cutting back from 7f.

Kay Sera drops back in trip after scoring over 1m4f here earlier in the month and is expected to remain competitive following a 2lb rise. Over this shorter trip, however, preference is for PENSAX LADY, who landed a classified stakes contest over track and trip last month and was beaten by half a length in a handicap off 1lb lower last time to suggest this mark is within her capabilities. Outlaw Torn went close off this mark over 1m2f at Chelmsford latest and could also take a hand.

FERRYVIEW PLACE rattled the crossbar over 1m2f at Chelmsford last time out and is expected to gain compensation off an unchanged rating. Dovil's Duel is capable of making his presence felt in 0-60 company and is the one expected to put up most resistance. Makhfar is 5lb higher than when scoring over 1m at Chelmsford in November but could improve on his latest effort over 1m2f now first-time cheekpieces are fitted.

MYTHICAL MADNESS battled on well to prevail in a competitive C&D handicap earlier in the month and is expected to confirm form with the reopposing third and fourth, Examiner and Solar Deity, to land a double. Our Channel is a Listed winner over 1m2f on Polytrack and is worth a market check now switching back from turf, while John Reel wasn't beaten far off 3lb lower at Leicester in October and could also make his presence felt.

FINAL VENTURE progressed nicely for Alan Swinbank on turf this term and is worth monitoring closely in the betting now debuting for new connections from the inside stall. He fetched 260,000gns when he went through the ring in October and was only narrowly beaten in Listed company when last sighted. Lightscameraction hung his winning chance away at Leicester but has claims if maintaining a straight course in the finish. The consistent Dougan is unlikely to be far away, while Spring Loaded is entitled to come on for his last run at Kempton.

Smokethatthunders is worth a market check now eased into 0-75 company and back from a break, but with the benefit of a recent run to his name, five-time 7f winner MALAYSIAN BOLEH shades the vote. Brian Ellison's charge has dropped 7lb lower than his last winning all-weather rating and is worth returning to this trip after finishing sixth over 6f at Newcastle last time. Recent C&D winner Capolavoro is up 5lb but considered the main danger to the selection.
