This is a very poor contest and it will be disappointing if RIVER OF INTRIGUE cannot return to winning ways this afternoon. A maiden hurdle winner at Worcester in June, the son of Indian River has struggled in handicap company since then but he can take full advantage of this moderate event. Bendomingo has been knocking on the door of late and can chase the selection home, while Letemgo also has to be noted.

RATHER BE bolted up in an arguably stronger event than this at Hereford in October and a 7lb penalty for that success is unlikely to stop him from going in once again today. Forza Milan outran odds of 50/1 to chase home a decent rival last time out and he could fill second place once again today. Others to note are Dawn Missile, Markov and Stick To The Plan.

CAPRICE D'ANGLAIS has to shoulder a 7lb penalty for his easy win at Hereford last week and this youngster is the clear standard setter in this field. His only real threat would appear to be Knight's Reward, who also won at Hereford on his most recent start. That form is not the strongest but it still makes him the main danger to the selection, ahead of Viking Mistress.

WHISPERING STORM improved with every start under Rules last season and he makes his handicap debut from a mark which may underestimate his ability. It would be no surprise if Supply And Demand took a significant step forward now in handicap company, while Miss Tongabezi has to be respected following her second at Leicester a few weeks ago. Midnight Gem has been in decent enough form of late and she could reward each-way support today.

BETTER DAYS showed improved form when winning easily at Lingfield earlier in the month and has a huge advantage with Tom Humphries able to claim 10lb having ridden out that claim earlier this week. Movie Legend has proven to be consistent this season and may have more to offer on chasing debut, along with Sandown winner Bagging Turf, who is open to improvement on just her fourth start.

YUKON DELTA appeared to find an extended 3m1f beyond him at Plumpton last month but is likely to benefit from the slight drop in distance on a flatter track. Kapgarde King has had a break since running well below par at Plumpton at the end of October and should appreciate returning to a right handed track, while Riddlestown may benefit from a step back up in distance having stayed on at Towcester earlier this month.

A bumper that has already built up a decent reputation with two smart winners in O O Seven and Westend Story and it has the potential to throw up another decent prospect. Solighoster was a good winner on debut at Newcastle and is entitled to build on that here but preference goes to POTTERS HEDGER, a full-brother to Potters Legend who also won on his debut in a bumper at Fakenham last year. Linenhall was runner-up on debut at Southwell and should improve for that experience.
