NO THROUGH ROAD ran as if in need of a stiffer test when runner-up last time and he is fancied to gain a first career success now granted a step up in trip. He runs from the same mark here and this galloping track should suit. Milly Malone jumped poorly when below par over C&D on her latest outing but she is capable of going close if cutting out the errors. Vinnieslittle Lamb and Ball Hopper merit consideration, though the former arrives on the back of a first fence fall and the latter is yet to convince he stays this trip.

A fiercely competitive heat can go the way of WALK ON AL for the in-form Dan Skelton yard. It was a case of mission impossible when last seen, finishing well held behind Beat That in the Sefton at Aintree, but his trainer has always seen him as a chaser and he is expected to improve now tackling the larger obstacles. Irish Buccaneer won a solid Ludlow handicap on his most recent outing and he is likely to play a key role if seeing out this trip. Winning pointer Call Me Vic is lightly raced and is entitled to plenty of respect, while Midnight Belle and Wilton Milan are also worthy of a place on the shortlist.

A chance is taken on GEORGE NYMPTON who is now 2lb below his last winning mark. He hasn't shaped with too much promise the last twice but he has gone well fresh in the past, will appreciate the return to softer ground and the application of the hood could be the spark needed to ignite a revival. Lysino has been holding his form well this season but he struggled to make his presence felt off 4lb lower last time and his busy summer could be catching up with him. Larteta is undoubtedly well handicapped and rates the main threat to the selection, while the quirky Temple Lord could play a part if in the mood.

This could prove to be an informative bumper and BRONCO BILLY, who fetched €130,000 as a three-year-old, can make a winning debut. His dam is a half-sister to former Champion bumper hero Joe Cullen, so their is precociousness in his pedigree, and his yard having been firing in the winners over the past week. Off Duty is entitled to plenty of respect representing leading connections but he is likely to need a stiffer test in time. Sacrobleu is related to plenty of winners and is worth monitoring in the betting for a yard who can ready a newcomer, while Give Him A Glance is worth a second look in receipt of plenty of weight.

LADY BUTTONS shaped with plenty of promise in bumpers last season, most notably when beating a smart Nigel Twiston-Davies inmate by eight lengths at Wetherby and finishing a head second in the Listed Mares bumper at the Grand National meeting at Aintree. The daughter of Beneficial acts well on soft ground and rates the one they've all got to beat on her hurdling debut. Sea Claria ran well at Taunton in March but is entitled to strip fitter for the run, while dual bumper winner Pitter Patter and Bangor fourth Sassanova complete the shortlist.

WHATDOESTHEFOXSAY represents a shrewd yard going handicapping for the first time and a mark of 109 looks fairly lenient. Donald McCain's charge, who won a bumper at Bangor, beat the 125-rated Bonne Fee with any amount in hand at the Welsh venue over hurdles earlier this month and, although she was beaten at odds of 1-5 on her debut over timber, she's well worth sticking with on the back of her latest run. Teochew was last seen finishing second at Bangor in April but doesn't boast the best record when fresh, so Woodland Walk is feared most.

Kim Bailey and Jason Maguire won this maiden with Premier Portrait 12 months ago and it could be that DERRINTOGHER BLISS' recent match practice gives him the edge for the same trainer/jockey combination. A winner between the flags in February, the son of Arcadio bumped into a decent Neill Mulholland inmate on his NH debut at Uttoxeter earlier this month, but he had some useful performers behind and is open to a lot of improvement. Chepstow bumper winner Binge Drinker is feared most and is expected to have been well prepared for his hurdling debut, while He's A Bully rates best of the rest.

Given Dan Skelton has started the NH season in such good form and he's race fit following a second placed effort at Stratford earlier this month, GO ODEE GO is expected to take all of the beating. Placed twice in bumpers at Taunton and Fontwell, the six-year-old made a hurdling debut full of promise at Stratford, going down by just a neck to Cloonacool, and natural improvement makes him a big player. Others to keep onside are Ludlow bumper winner Brownville and No No Romeo, who was deemed good enough to contest a Grade 1 at Aintree in April.
