SHANGHAI BEAUTY might be worth taking a chance on despite having an absence to overcome as she improved markedly on her debut effort to finish a close fourth in Listed company at Tipperary. Red Ivy was ahead of the selection in third when she made her racecourse bow in May and produced another decent effort in defeat at Naas on Sunday. Connections will hope this doesn't come too soon, likewise for Scottish Mist who sports blinkers after finishing down the field on her debut in Kildare on the same card. The shortlist is completed by Irish 1000 Guineas entrant Pink Lavender who deserves closer market inspection.

CAPTAIN CULLEN was narrowly denied in a far more valuable race at the Curragh last month, accounting for no fewer than six of today's rivals in the process, so he gets the vote. The penalised Bubbly Bellini was one of those who trailed the selection at HQ but he has scored since over six furlongs at Cork and might be able to get closer with more potential cut underfoot here. Snakes And Ladders is becoming quite expensive to follow but the drop to the minimum trip is an interesting ploy, while Sweetest Taboo finished behind a couple of these rivals last time but looks a smooth operator on just her fifth start.

BREAK MY MIND opened her account on her fifth start over 1m4f at Fairyhouse and can defy a 9lb hike in the weights if this trip doesn't prove too sharp for her. The main danger may be Sarafiyla who hasn't been seen since disappointing when favourite at the Galway Festival but could still be ahead of her mark if a first-time visor does the trick. Sophie's World beat that rival at Ballybrit and hasn't been completely disgraced in competitive company since, so she is respected, while Beach Of Falesa is 3lb lower than when she won this race last year and cannot be completely discounted back in handicap company.

STEIP AMACH was fourth behind subsequent Fillies' Mile winner Together Forever when last sighted in Listed company at the Curragh and looks the one to side with now the yard appears to have turned the corner. The 80-rated Cape Wolfe looks the main danger if forgiven his all-weather debut flop earlier in the month, as he was a narrow runner-up at Listowel the time before, and may appreciate the return to turf. Moving On Up stepped up on her debut at Killarney when third at Dundalk and looks the best of the rest.

VASONI wasn't seen to best effect when encountering quicker surfaces in the summer but has fallen in the ratings as a result and could be primed for a return to winning ways now 2lb below her last winning mark. Rose Angel is another contender who appears to have fallen to a workable mark after chasing home a subsequent winner over 1m2f here but she needs to prove she can win on turf. Zelos Dream got her head back in front at Gowran Park and has a chance from a 6lb higher mark.

CRAFTED MASTERY built on her maiden success at Gowran Park when finishing a narrow runner-up at Roscommon and a 2lb rise could still leave her room for manoeuvre on just her seventh outing. Camakasi looks a live danger to the selection, though, as he was narrowly defeated in third on his return to action at Dundalk and can strike if a new set of cheekpieces do the trick. Craic Agus Spraoi is largely consistent and can earn some minor honours.

SCOOPING tries 1m5f for the first time but was last sighted beating the ultra progressive Panama Hat (now rated 112) at Leopardstown, and while that form shouldn't be taken too literally, she could still be ahead of her mark from a rating of 69. Face Value - a former C&D winner - sprang a surprise when scoring at Listowel at odds of 20/1, and it will be interesting to see whether he can uphold form with Modem, who is on the right side of a 5lb swing in the weights with that rival for a three-length defeat. Hazariban is rated 127 over hurdles and is worth a market check from this basement Flat mark.

THUNDER ZONE was ahead of a future winner when finishing an encouraging runner-up at Galway on his second start and gets the vote here. A few of his rivals boast useful form in the National Hunt sphere, including Rightdownthemiddle, who was narrowly denied over two miles at this track and had contested Pattern races over hurdles. Lucky Pat will appreciate the extra yardage judging from his success in a bumper at Ballybrit and his victory over hurdles at Kilbeggan, while Enzani is out of a half-sister to Estimate and deserves plenty of respect on debut.
