A chance is taken on Tom Dascombe's newcomer, BROCKWELL, in the opener. This nicely bred son of Singspiel cost 70,000 gns as a yearling and an entry in next year's Epsom Derby suggests that he's been showing plenty at home. Choisan has been placed in five of his seven starts thus far and should give another good account, while Mickdaam would have every chance if recapturing the form of his debut third at HQ.

A wide open sprint handicap. Taurus Twins has been knocking on the door recently and could be in the shake-up once again, but HAAJES gets the tentative vote to follow up his victory in this race 12 months ago. Despite a number of solid efforts since last year's win, he starts today's race on a 1lb lower mark and looks to have a handy draw in 19. Eland Ally got within a length of the selection on his latest start at Doncaster and warrants respect now 2lb better off.

SADEEK'S SONG left his debut performance well behind when hacking over slightly shorter at Nottingham ten days ago and, with further improvement on the cards, he will be well fancied to follow up. Oceanway is slipping back down the ratings and could be ready to strike soon, while Electra Star faces an easier assignment than when finishing down the field at HQ latest and could well return to form.

Bannock is clearly a lot better than showing when drawn the 'wrong' side at Redcar last time and is expected to show his true colours this afternoon, but ROGER SEZ looks the one to beat. She appeared to benefit from the application of blinkers (worn again today) when bolting up in Group 3 company at Ayr three weeks ago and will take some stopping if in the same mood here. Swiss Spirit has an outside chance dropped in class and returning to the scene of his maiden success.

It could pay to side with hat-trick seeking SIRIUS PROSPECT in this competitive looking handicap. He has returned from a slight break to win his two races last month in most impressive fashion and a further 7lb hike in the handicap may not be enough to stop him from going in again. Internationaldebut must come into the reckoning now looking to make it four wins in a row, while Nocturnal Affair commands respect on the back of his workmanlike victory at Doncaster.

Mark Tompkins saddled the winner of this race in 2007 and 2009 and he appears to have another big chance with ASTROMAGICK. This three-year-old appeared to benefit from the step up to 2m when impressively opening his account at Yarmouth last month and today's extra couple of furlongs can help her defy a 6lb rise. Los Nadis rates the biggest threat after his easy hurdles success 17 days ago, while Beat The Shower is rarely too far away.

A tricky 'getting out stakes' for punters. On Her Way has filled the runner-up berth in both starts so far this year and should be in the mix once again, while Licence To Till's confidence will be sky-high after a cosy victory at Dundalk recently. The vote, however, goes to JO'BURG, who has gone up 5lb in the ratings for a recent near-miss at Redcar but remains attractively treated on the pick of his old form.
