Trainer says

I was very happy with how he improved over the winter, and I think there’s a big pot in him. Six or seven furlongs should be fine for him, and he’s won I hope can win a premier handicap. We have him entered at Naas on Monday. Races like the Scurry Handicap, the Rockingham Handicap and even the big seven-furlong handicap at the Galway Festival will come into mind for him. After that, he could be one for the Racing League.

I made a mistake by running him on quick ground at the Irish Derby meeting last year and I won’t do that again. We’re looking at the Emerald Mile at the Curragh on Guineas weekend and then will look towards the Galway Mile with him. He isn’t an easy horse to win with and has been a victim of his own consistency at times, but he has come back to a fair mark now and can win a big one when things drop right for him. Those big handicaps are very tough and if things don’t go right for him, he’ll definitely be one for the Racing League after that.

He has come down in the ratings and the obvious place to aim is the Galway Festival. I’d love him to get his head in front before then and we’ll run him in all those good handicaps before then. He just needs things to drop right for him.

He won twice over the winter at Dundalk and has a lower rating on turf. We won’t be pitch him in too deep, but we think he can win again at an appropriate level. He has won at Laytown in each of the last two years, so that is an obvious target for him. He’s also one that will be considered for the Racing League.

Trainer says

It was unfortunate out in Qatar in February as the ground just dried out on him and ended up too quick for him. We are looking to start him back in the Woodlands Stakes at Naas on Monday. He did a very impressive piece of work the other day and we’re looking forward to seeing him run. The Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh would be an obvious one for him if the ground came up kind. We won’t run him on fast ground. He doesn’t need it bottomless but likes an ease in it. He’ll have a Group 3 penalty to carry in lesser pattern races, but I think he’s classy enough to do that.

Forget about his run last week, the ground was too soft for him. He isn’t the easiest and is a fair character, but he’s handicapped to win, and I could easily see him popping up to win a couple. He ran well at Southwell in the Racing League last year and would be in the mix for that again this year.

Harry has a little setback that held us up, but he’s back in full work now. He is rated a lot lower on the turf than the all-weather and he obviously isn’t as good on one as the other, but it is a big gap and I’d be keen to test it with him on grass. He’s been an unbelievable horse for us and is a very talented one on his day. He isn’t the horse he was, but he is still very enthusiastic, and I think he has more wins in him. I don’t think he’ll be back out until June and he’s one we’ll have the Racing League in mind for.

He’s another one that we have in mind for the Racing League later in the year. He loves the all-weather but has done a lot of winning on the grass too. He’s entered in the big seven-furlong handicap at Cork, which he won in 2021, and that’s what we’re looking at with him. He’s a classy horse and can hopefully keep progressing.

She’s been covered by Cotai Glory, and the hope is to run her a couple of more times while she’s in foal. She has picked up some small black type already and we’re looking to send her back to Chelmsford for the Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes that she was third in last year. She’s been brilliant, so consistent, and we’ll miss her when she retires to the paddocks.

He is a victim of his own consistency in many ways, as he runs his heart out every time but finds it hard to win, as the handicapper always has a good grip on him. His mark has stayed between 88 and 95 for the last two years and that tells you where he is. When he gets a little lower in that range and things drop right, he’ll run well for you. He has a bit of versatility from five furlongs to seven furlongs depending on the ground. We’ll aiming him at the big seven-furlong handicap at Galway as the style of racing there suits him over that trip. The faster they go in front of him the better.

He couldn’t have done much more without winning last year. He ran huge when a close second in the Galway Mile. He had a little hold up and had a breathing operation at the start of the year, so he won’t be out until mid-season. Galway is the aim for him again and he could be one for the Racing League after that.

We’ll aim him at winner’s races and Listed races this season. He was very good when winning on his return at Dundalk last month. He wants fast ground or the all-weather, so we’re happy enough to wait until he gets his ground. He’s a talented horse when he gets his conditions, and he seems to be best when fresh.

The legend! He had a little setback, but he’s back in work now. The plan, and hope, is to bring him west of the Shannon for one last hurrah at Galway! He’s won the Galway Mile twice and it would be great to get him back for another go at it at the age of 10. Last year he started the campaign by being beaten a short-head in the Irish Lincoln and 13 starts later he finished his season by winning a premier handicap at the Curragh, so we know he retains plenty of ability. He loves soft ground and loves the hill at Galway. I’d love to get him back to Ballybrit - what a superstar!

He’s a bit like Saltonstall, he’s nearly ready to start making the trip to the Post Office to collect his pension! He had a great time of it last year and sure look, he’s in the hands of the handicapper now. If he gives him a chance, I think he can win another. We’ll just tip away with him and hope he pops up when things drop right for him. We’ll try to get him back to Gowran Park as he seems to like it around there. A little bit of juice in the ground suits him well.

The horse that won Ireland the Racing League last year! He won a great pot at Chepstow, then was unlucky at Windsor, then finished a vital fourth in the final race of the competition at Southwell that got the team over the line! His owners the Total Recall Racing Club got a real kick out of the Racing League last year and are very keen for him to run in it again this year, so hopefully the manager plays ball and picks him!! He ran great in a £200,000 handicap at Newcastle on Good Friday. We took our time going up in trip with him and we might try him over even further. He looks well handicapped over hurdles too, so we could give that another go again.

We’ve entered him in the premier handicap over seven furlongs at Cork. He ran well in the race last year, finishing like a train after getting outpaced. We’ll look to run him in all those big premier handicaps like we did last year. He had a good time of it in the Racing League last year too, finishing second at Newcastle and winning on the final night of the competitive at Southwell, so we’ll have that in our mind for him too.

He was a bit unlucky not to win at Dundalk. He will appreciate a bit of juice in the ground. He’s one of those that if we find the key to him, he’s much lower in the weights than he used to be and will win races.

I made a mistake running her at Naas on ground that testing. I shouldn’t have run her, and she ran well below herself. I like her a lot, I think she’s a very good filly. Black type is the aim for her. We have her entered in the German 1,000 Guineas. I’m not sure she’ll go there, as I’d love to get a run into her before then, but we are just struggling a bit for options. Either way, I’ll wait for better ground with her.

He’s a real sprinter. There’s a lovely premier handicap for three-year-olds only at Naas on May 11th that looks ideal for him. He ran very well at the Curragh the other day and I think he can come forward from that. Six furlongs will suit him well, but a fast-run five furlongs will be fine for him too.

Jack Cantillon and Syndicates Racing bought him for 30,000gns at the Craven Breeze Up Sale a few weeks ago and I believe he sold out for them very quickly, which is great. He was a bit disappointing in his breeze on the day but watching him canter around here, you’d be very happy with him.
