Never far from the leaders, she wasn’t always very fluid over the jumps but produced a nice effort to finish second.

Trainer says

She will run in the Prix Speranza at Compiegne on Monday. She has a lot of experience already and this should suit her. Her last start was good at Argentan. She is not very big and still needs to strengthen up.

Runner-up in a Listed race over fences in the spring, he fell on both of his attempts at Grade 3 level.

Trainer says

He was really unlucky. He couldn’t avoid the fall when his stable companion Inaya Jones fell in front of him at the Rail Ditch and Fence. The jockey told me that he was going really well at that point and that he jumped well but there was nothing he could do when the other fell just in front of him. But he is in good form and he is just coming right now. He is very big, so he took some time, but he is now reaching maturity. And what he did over hurdles at Nantes was quite impressive as it was a good field of horses. He will run at Auteuil on the 17th.

Grade 2-placed over fences, he struggled to follow on his last start, which came after a long summer break.

Trainer says

He is going to run in the Grade I Prix Maurice Gillois. He had a little setback during his preparation for this race and missed one prep race. He didn’t run between April and October. But we are going to run him in the good race with the hope that he might get a place. We like this horse, who is just very impressive to look at and who is a proper Auteuil horse and who is only going to get better with age.

He travelled in mid-field in a race with little pace and progressively made his move in the final bend and while he made good ground, he was eventually beaten by Kass Tete, who had already made his debut and hence had more experience.

Trainer says

He is the brother of Rosario Baron. His debut at the beginning of the season was very good, but then he had a few issues and couldn’t run for a while. This weekend, he will make his reappearance and I can’t wait to see him. He seems in good form. A very generous horse, I think he will be ready quite fast. He schooled on Friday with Johnny and worked well. He is a nice horse, with speed. Now, I’m not going to say that he will turn into the next Rosario Baron, but he is a nice horse.

On his last start he carried the second colours of the Papot Family and quickly looked for the rail to take the lead, which he managed to hold onto until they crossed the finish line.

Trainer says

He is a machine! He is a real fighter who loves running. In the morning, he has a tendency to do too much, so we have to rein him in. He has a lot of heart and we love him. He worked on Saturday morning and worked really well. Now, we will just let him tick over and hope that he jumps well on Saturday when he runs in the Grand Prix d’Automne. I don’t think the distance will be too long, as he is really clever with his breathing and recovers well. He has already won over 4300m, so as I said, the trip won’t be a problem. He is really a lovely horse and I think he has now reached maturity. It will be a great match with Losange Bleu. Let the best one win!

A winner over fences last year, he has a tendency to get rid of his jockey as was the case in the Grade 3 Prix Montgomery.

Trainer says

Like Caligramme he is entered in two races on Sunday the 17th at Auteuil. I don’t know yet if I will run him in the handicap or the Grade 3 over fences. With Johnny, you never know what you get. It’s always a question mark with him as he can do anything. He is great in the morning, but in the afternoon, he can pull like a train and not breathe. And he makes stupid mistakes. On the day that everything goes right for him, he could win a big race, but you just never know what he will do.

She was always travelling close to the leaders and was still in contention when jumping the last hurdle and they all finished in a heap, with her coming past the post in fifth place.

Trainer says

She worked well on Saturday. Last time out, she was frankly unlucky. She was hampered when jumping the second last hurdle and again when she came over the last. It was infuriating, because she came back on the flat and finished well. This time, it’s not going to be easy, but I really like her as she has some speed. She has already gone chasing, but I was disappointed on her debut as she didn’t jump as well as I thought she would. So, she is back over hurdles.

Versatile four-year-old who is very relaxed in his races and who won on his last start even though he made a couple of mistakes.

Trainer says

He is a very small. He is a pony, but he is a real fighter and very easy to train. He is a bit of a monkey and each time he runs, he surprises us. If you saw him, you would never say that you would buy him. But he certainly knows how to jump. He is entered in the Prix Maurice Gillois, a Grade 1 which is a huge step up for him. I have to be honest, I will have to have a think if he is really going to run. He really has to be in absolute top form to run. He is a horse I like very much and I am a little afraid that it will be too hard for him. I don’t want him to have a bad memory from that start. If he is happy and jumping out of his skin in the run-up, it’s likely that he will run.

Won on his third start over hurdles in Fonainebleau.

Trainer says

He will definitely have his next race in Auteuil. I don’t know when or which race, but he is a nice horse. He is a bit of a late developer and had a few little issues, which is normal when you take some time to get ready. We liked what he did at Fontainebleau and hope that he will suit Auteuil.

He tried to win the race from the front, but was caught by his stable mate Kim Roque when approaching the last and then lost second place on the flat.

Trainer says

He is entered in a race this weekend at Auteuil, but I’m not sure yet if he will go there. He is a nice horse, who is bound to be better once he goes chasing. He doesn’t have massive amounts of speed and also, he is not a horse that you want to run too close to his last start. So maybe I will still give him a little time. But as I said, he is a chaser rather than a hurdler.

He was ridden with a lot of confidence in front, even though it was his debut, and he didn’t disappoint, running all the way to the line.

Trainer says

He won on his hurdle debut at Auteuil and we gave him a bit of quiet time to recover and in fact, he seems to have recovered really well from that first start. He was a nice surprise for us, as he is a little bit of a late developer. He is in form, ready, and he is a real horse for Auteuil. He is going to run in the Prix Oeneas. Obviously, there are lots of horses in the race but they also carry a lot of weight, so we shall see.

She finished fifth on her chasing debut in the Prix Fezensac at Auteuil where she travelled in last position before making some progress in the final bend to see her race out on the flat.

Trainer says

She runs this Monday at Compiegne. She had an entry at Auteuil, but she will be better suited by this race for AQPS horses. It’s another chase and she doesn’t have to carry a lot of weight in this race. She is an AQPS and hence will have many opportunities in the future.

She ran in a filly’s race for AQPS horses where she found herself just behind the leaders before falling back towards mid-division. She made a nice effort between the final two jumps but couldn’t reach the leaders.

Trainer says

She won’t run this weekend, as she suffered a little setback. But she is a filly I love. She is not overly big but she has a heart of a lion. She always gives everything and I don’t want to force her. But she is one to follow.

The winner of the Prix Alain du Breil, also known as the Spring champion hurdle for four-year-olds has just made his seasonal reappearance in a Grade 3 where he finished second to Kingland.

Trainer says

He is in good form and will run on the 24th November in the Grade 1 Prix Renaud du Vivier, the champion four-year-old hurdle race at Auteuil. He is a really good horse. He worked on Saturday morning and worked really well.

Very consistent handicapper over fences who quickened well on his last start and battled courageously all the way to the line.

Trainer says

He will run on Monday in the Grand Steeple Chase of Angers. It’s a Listed race and he doesn’t have to carry more weight than the others. He is a very good horse to have in the yard, as he is just very generous.

Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris winner in 2023, he was then off because of injury but made a winning comeback over hurdles at Auteuil and then was the runner-up in another hurdle race at Compiegne.

Trainer says

He is in good form. He made a huge mistake when he ran at Compiegne, where he nearly fell. I think that is what cost him the victory. But he came home all right. The Haye Jousselin was never really an option as he only got back from injury recently and there was not enough time to prepare him. It’s a really huge and tough race and his big goal is the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris again next year. He will run again this season, but as I said, the Grand Steeple is the one we are aiming for with him.

Grade 2 winner over fences, he was pulled up in the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris and was never in contention on his last start in the Grand Steeple-Chase de Compiegne.

Trainer says

He is giving me grey hairs! He is really cunning and I can’t really get to the bottom of him. Following his winter in Pau where he won a hurdle race and a chase, he won a Grade 2 at Auteuil and then when he ran in the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris, he was actually sick. However, he got over that, but since then I have a feeling that he is no longer interested in running. I ran all the tests and he is fine, but he just switches off. I think I will take him back to Pau, where he will have to carry a lot of weight, but he likes it there.
