MARTYN MEADE made the move to Manton from Sefton Lodge in Newmarket just over 12 months ago and looks to make a happy return to his former home when Advertise puts his 2000 Guineas claims on the line on May 4.
The Dewhurst runner-up bypasses Wednesday’s Craven Stakes in favour of a racecourse gallop at Newmarket a day earlier but a benchmark to that form and a possible second representative in the Classic could be in line if stablemate Confiding is given the go ahead and comes up to scratch in that contest.
The Manton team could also have a say in the proceedings at the opening Newmarket meeting of the season as Chilean, a first time out scorer in a Group 3 in France, last season is pencilled in for Thursday’s Earl of Sefton Stakes as Meade is happy that he has a solid team behind him as the turf season begins in earnest.
Martyn kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about those he hopes can make inroads for him this term.
