There are few things more dear to a Yorkshire trainer than having a winner at York’s Ebor Festival and Tim Easterby has had his fare share of luck in that department.
The Habton Grange trainer had to wait until the last race 12 months ago to get on the scoreboard when Eeh Bah Gum took the Sky Bet Apprentice Handicap but had been served up a much spicier dish in 2017 when Wells Farhh Go took the Group 3 Acomb Stakes.
There is no place for Eeh Bah Gum this time around but Wells Farhh Go is looking to etch his name in gold with victory in the first £1 million Sky Bet Ebor Handicap at York on Saturday and hopefully the zest he showed when an impressive winner from Walton Street in a listed event at Newmarket on his reappearance in June.
Tim has already notched a very healthy 74 winners this campaign and started off the week with a treble at Catterick on Monday and, on the eve of the most important four days at York, kindly spoke to Tony Elves of ATR about some of the leading horses in his team.
