Francisco's Piece displayed improved form when getting his head back in front at Musselburgh and a subsequent gelding operation may yield further progression. That said, the vote goes to TEMPLE OF ATHENA, who ran with plenty of credit in the 3YO Dash at Epsom on her penultimate start and the return to a stiffer track is likely to play to her strengths.
PRINCE OF CALYPSO built on a promising handicap debut when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton earlier this month and a 5lb rise might not be able to stop him on his return to turf. Northern Brave took a step in the right direction when runner-up at Thirsk and has to be respected off a 1lb lower mark. Others to consider include L'Eagle Aid and Mayaada.
CIAO CAPO gained his third victory of the year when making it 2-2 over C&D on his latest start and the Faheys' gelding makes plenty of appeal in a bid to maintain his unbeaten record at this track. Fans Favourite is expected to appreciate dropping back in trip, with his last appearance over 1m2f a winning one at Ayr in June. Everyoneknowsadave and Sunny Orange can fight it out for the minor honours.
SAFFRON BAY looked a work in progress on her debut at Lingfield but there was enough in the performance to suggest the daughter of Lucky Vega will be a lot wiser for the experience. From a handy draw, a step forward can see her off the mark at the second time of asking. Blanquita hasn't fared so well with the draw but she also posted an encouraging effort on debut and is expected to force the pace once again. Naseebwali is an interesting newcomer to check in the betting.
GLENFINNAN bounced back to form with a game win over C&D 17 days ago and, still potentially well treated off 4lb higher, another bold bid can be expected as he bids for a third career win over track and trip. The Sweet Escape commands respect after winning three of his last four starts but is now in uncharted territory regarding his revised rating of 76. Son, Mudamer and Misunderstood are others that can figure in a competitive event.
MOUNT KING is back on a winning mark and, ideally suited by a still uphill finish, this could be a decent opportunity for the Tim Easterby-trained six-year-old to resume winning ways. Sandy Craic has held her form well of late and also looks a key player on these terms, while course specialist Coolree is another likely to enter the reckoning.
LETHAL NYMPH returned to form when narrowly scoring at Newcastle last time and remains on a workable mark despite a 4lb rise. Top Beverley jockey Jason Hart takes over and he can go well again back on the turf. Francisco's Piece also arrives on the back of a win, opening his UK account at Musselburgh by a neck, and his preference for testing conditions is a positive with the ground turning to soft. Sir Yoshi has seen his mark steadily fall and was beaten only around two lengths at Hamilton last time, so he could be ready to strike for the first time in over two years.

He is 5lb higher but has proved effective on soft ground in the past and can remain competitive back on turf for Ed Bethell's in-form yard. L'Eagle Aid shaped well in first-time cheekpieces when beaten three lengths at Chester and is 3lb below his last winning mark, with Jason Hart back on board, so he looks a serious threat. Northern Brave returned to form when beaten only a length and a half at Thirsk last time and looks capable of further progress now tackling this sort of distance again.
CIAO CAPO has been in fantastic form, winning four of his last six starts, and returned to winning ways when scoring by a length over C&D last time. He is another 3lb higher but has shown he is well suited by this level and can go well again. Rapide Vega improved when winning by two and a quarter lengths at Lingfield on his first start for a new yard and, having stayed on well over a mile, should appreciate returning to 10f. Project Geofin shaped well when beaten two lengths at Doncaster on his first start since a wind operation and can go well again if building on that effort.
BLANQUITA showed a degree promise when fourth, beaten five lengths at Kempton on debut and, despite an unfavourable wide draw in 13 of this 14-runner field, is taken to improve and open on her account on her second start. Halcon was third beaten only a couple of lengths from 80/1 on her first start at Ripon but failed to build on her debut when comfortably held at Wolverhampton at a much shorter price last time. However, she represents a top course trainer in Tim Easterby and should be capable of better back on turf. Saffron Bay made a promising start when third by a few lengths over a mile at Lingfield and can improve further stepping down in trip for her first turf start.
THE SWEET ESCAPE has been thriving lately and got back to winning ways when scoring by three lengths at Newmarket last time. He is another 6lb higher but remains in excellent form and can go well again in search of a fourth win in five starts. Son has been consistent enough and was beaten only a short-head at Carlisle last time, so can remain competitive from just 2lb higher than that effort. Glenfinnan returned to form when scoring by three parts of a length over C&D last time and handles a range of conditions, but needs to find more from a 4lb higher mark.
GLEN NEVIS has been in good form and was beaten only a neck at Newmarket last time, so can go well again from just 3lb higher. First-time cheekpieces could help eke out further improvement, while top course jockey Jason Hart is also booked. Mount King is only 2lb above his last winning mark after a solid fourth at Redcar last time and could benefit from the drop in grade and step up to an extended mile, with his yard having won two of the last five renewals. Sandy Craic has generally been going well and can bounce back from a slightly below-par effort at Haydock last time out.
