On merit ratings RED TAFFETY could make a successful local debut for her new yard. The filly has decent Western Cape form, shows good pace and if the track suits could get the fractions right. PRINCESS TRIPPI has been steadily improving and could be looking for the distance. She did well from a wide draw last time but has drawn widest here. LILTING SONG turned in a honest display on local debut. She was beaten only 1.10 lengths by a horse that had plenty Polytrack experience and will be looking to go one better back on turf. LAST OVATION can only improve.

SAINT BRIGID was most unlucky on the Polytrack last time. She ran on strongly before getting badly hampered and could get the job done this time as she is equally effective on the turf track. Watch out for DEEPEST WATER who won a nice race at the third time of asking and her first try at this track. A wide draw is a concern for a filly that should also go further in time. MISSISSIPPI SPICE's winning last form line when meeting males is working out very well. There have been two subsequent winners from the race and she must be a serious threat again.

PSYCHE enjoyed being hiked up to 1750m last time going start to finish and she gives the impression the 1900m she now tries will be no problem. She has a chance of following up on her maiden win. HODGEPODGE would be deserving. She has run well over all kinds of distances and was second to subsequent easy Oaks Trial winner Curious Girl in her last start. ZENA ROSE franked Curious Girl's previous win with a stout win in what was a well-run race. She will need luck from her wide draw. SASCHA'S DREAM and FINE WINE should be right there on form. More can earn.

TOBACCONIST had things go wrong in his last start at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He loves this track and could have better luck in running this time. TEE DOG will be hard to peg back. He is in good form and should enjoy the step up in distance. CONTINENTALEXPRESS is not one to take lightly. He has done well with top weight in recent starts and is one that could get away at the right time. HIGH QUEUE is holding form and must have a say at the weights. RODRIGUEZ needs a solid pace and will be running on well if in the mood.

CLEARTHERUNWAY earned a high merit rating for his maiden win but then more than confirmed the ability with another good win at a decent grade last time. He could remain unbeaten at this venue as he appears to be well weighted. DOWN BY THE RIVER is in the form of his life. He wasn't disgraced behind high-class individuals last time and should enjoy a good run from gate No 1. KANAAL SKATER showed he can run with the top colts in his second run after rest. He is two from two at this venue and could be dangerous this time. JOHNNY THE THIEF and WICCAN WARRIOR are capable.

Stablemates NEXT OF KIN and MY LUCKY CHARM both ran encouraging races in their last starts. The stable elect could be the former on riding arrangements. He should prefer the drop in trip and jumps from the very favourable gate No 1. The latter can't be taken lightly after a fair run on the Highveld last time. DRICUS and GRAND APPEAL have decent form but have slightly wide draws. PRINCE OF TROY is lightly raced and could show more now back on turf over the distance. MAGMA MAGIC wasn't far off in a competitive race last time but needs to get the timing right over 1400m.

IRON WILL was on a hat-trick at this venue before finding a well-weighted filly one better at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He could pick up from where he left off especially now dropping in trip. DEFINITELY YES was favourite in his last two and ran decent races. He could finally show that he can win a race over the 1400m distance. BLUE STEEL is still learning what it is all about. If he can conserve his energy like he did when winning well on the Poly he would have a chance of following up. KIMBALL O'HARA will pop up one of the days. JOSHUA HOTSNAKE is back in form.
