Verdict
KING'S THRESHOLD produced a career-best performance when brushing aside a decent field at Newbury and a 6lb rise for that performance looks more than fair. Although shouldering top weight in a competitive race of this nature is no easy task, the progressive nine-year-old borders on being a Graded performer and is capable of getting the job done. Dartmoor Pirate is an obvious danger looking to complete a hat-trick of wins, while New Order and Kelce are others to throw into the mix.
Expert View Verdict
DESTROYTHEEVIDENCE has returned to form this term and his latest effort is worth marking up considerably as he was taken on up front. Though he has proven tricky to win with he has slipped to a workable mark judged on his novice form and on favourable drying ground he is fancied to snap his long losing run. He will face competition up front from a pair who look big dangers in Kelce and Moroder. The former will need another career best here but the strong stayer will be suited by conditions and his bold jumping should be an asset here. The former dual winner of this race returns off 5lb lower than last year and hinted at a revival last time here back on good ground behind Some Scope. He is taken to reverse that form and hold on for a place.
