Verdict
LIVIN ON LUCO was fourth off a 2lb higher mark in the Welsh Grand National in December. He may have disappointed on his sole subsequent start in the Eider, but this is a big drop in grade and the eight-year-old can take full advantage. Rivers Corner is another to be granted an ease in class and should not be underestimated, while Iron Bridge edges out Egbert and Sporting Ace to be best of the rest.
Expert View Verdict
Top weight Iron Bridge is the class angle here. He hasn't won since his novice days but he has run some big race in defeat placing in a Welsh National and finishing runner up to an unexposed rival last time. Racing off the same mark here he holds solid claims but at the other end of the weights SPORTING ACE appeals more. His last time out victory has been boosted by the runner up and though he's been raised 3lb he remains on a winning mark. Escaria Ten produced his best effort for some time when placed in a Cross Country race last time and will also be a threat if replicating that back over regulation fences.
