Verdict
QUAI DE BOURBON is not the most convincing of jumpers, but his class may tell against just two rivals with cheekpieces reapplied. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding ran a cracker when third behind Haiti Couleurs in the Irish Grand National here last year and this isn't demanding as the assignments he's faced so far this term. Jigoro hasn't won since taking a maiden hurdle at Navan over two years ago but he did at least offer some encouragement at Thurles last time. Drumgill has done most of his winning over much shorter trips and will need to find a bit more.
Expert View Verdict
QUAI DE BOURBON has a big weight to carry here but he should have too much class for his rivals. His best performance over fences came when placing here in the Irish National last spring and this looks a nice prep following disappointments in a pair of high end handicaps this term. Drumgill has some stamina questions to answer but he is likely to get an easy lead and he's been in good form in handicaps of late so will be a danger if allowed to dictate a steady pace. The consistent Jigoro should run his race but has a bit to find on form.
