Verdict

Bradbury would probably have finished a little closer were he not short of room at a crucial stage last time and is sure to be involved if handling the switch to turf, but it might pay to side with LADY VANGUARD. The 320,000gns purchase showed promise on her handicap bow at Yarmouth and may do better over this intermediate trip. She was eased 2lb in the handicap for that latest effort too and with Liam Wright removing a further 5lb, she could be well treated. Riddikulus is also noted.

Expert View Verdict

Nursery winner PORT DARWIN returned to form when placed in first time blinkers last time and gets to race off the same mark here. Though he did see out the 12f trip well that day this slight drop in trip should suit and he is fancied to defeat Bradbury who also proved his stamina for further last time. That rival remains relatively unexposed and can fill the places with Evergreen Emerald who is bred to relish this step up in trip on handicap debut.
