Babyfact had a very productive summer, with three wins, but the handicapper may have caught up with her. PANTHER PATROL has to overcome top weight but the six-year-old has been knocking on the door of late and looks sure to be thereabouts once again. The unexposed Wild Dancer and Pour La Victoire are others who should be in the mix at the business end of this contest.

Jack Nevison has been knocking on the door of late from this mark and he rates as a solid each-way pick. That said, preference is for DUSTY BLUE, who has a very good record over this C&D and she can overcome a 5lb rise for her narrow second here a couple of weeks ago. Others to make the shortlist are Archie Stevens, Burning Thread and Pensax Lad.

Three consecutive third-placed finishes give Tschierschen a leading chance but the daughter of Acclamation can be taken on with KOWAIYESS. The son of Exceed And Excel looked in need of the experience when third on debut at Kempton recently, where he started slowly prior to finishing very well, and he looks sure to have learnt plenty. Red Alert has also shown enough to suggest that he can pick up a race of this nature.

COEUR DE LION makes his handicap debut from what appears to be a stiff enough mark but he has shown ability in maidens and this step up in trip may bring about some improvement in this son of Pour Moi. The consistent Sunday Royal rates as solid each-way alternative to the selection and recent Chepstow winner Danglydontask cannot be discounted. For Goodness Sake rarely runs a bad race and she is another to feature upon the shortlist.

It is no surprise to see connections of DUBKA head here in search of black type and the three-year-old should relish this increase in trip. She has improved with each start this season and her recent success suggested that she should take this step up in class in her stride. Twitch reportedly works well at home and a replication of her Listed second in July at Newmarket could be good enough, while the progressive Purple Magic also enters calculations.

BEATBYBEATBYBEAT sauntered home at Brighton last week to score in a modest event and a first-time visor on that occasion seemingly worked a treat. The headgear remains fitted and a 6lb rise doesn't look overly harsh for Ismail Mohammed's charge. Apache Song was well backed to score at Ffos Las last month but failed to take advantage, while Polymnia showed signs of improvement at Wolverhampton when last seen and should be there at the business end.

Ryan Moore is a rare booking for the John Gosden team and rarer rider at this venue so VANTAGE POINT must be expected to build on his promising debut at Newmarket last month. It is no surprise to see the son of Galileo upped in trip and he looks sure to relish it. Castellated is a half-sister to Windshear and rates as the obvious threat, while Sir Nigel Gresley is expected to prove best of the remainder.

Clive Cox landed this event 12 months ago and looks to hold strong claims once more with SHALIMAH. The four-year-old performed admirably at Salisbury last month and a repeat would see him make the frame now in 0-70 company. Ian Williams and James Doyle do well when teaming up so Taurian has to be respected, while Hurricane Volta should be in the mix after failing to land a blow in a Spanish Conditions race last time out.
